The Moto 360 smartwatch suddenly resurrected at the end of 2020

Moto 360 (2019) can be called one of the best Wear OS smartwatches released in 2020. Of course, their cost is not small - 21 thousand rubles. ($350), but Motorola's new smartwatch is really worth the money.

Many probably still remember the first two generations of Motorola Moto 360 watches, when these devices with a completely round dial on Wear OS were new. Therefore, the news about the release of the third generation Moto 360 could not go unnoticed. True, the 2019 model is not entirely the merit of Motorola, since the Moto 360 brand was licensed by the Canadian company eBuyNow. However, these are still the same smartwatches loved by many, only improved from a technological point of view and in a new design.

For review, I was provided with a Moto 360 (2019) model running on Wear OS version 2.11, the capabilities of which I tested for five days. I tested them paired with the Google Pixel 4 XL smartphone.

Specifications Moto 360 (2019)

  • Screen: 1.2-inch 390×390 pixels, AMOLED.
  • Chip: Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100.
  • RAM: 1 GB.
  • ROM: 8 GB.
  • Sensors: Heart rate, GPS/Galileo/GLONASS/Beidou, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, light sensor.
  • Communication: NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 801.11n.
  • Battery: 355 mAh (from 0 to 100% in one hour).
  • Price: $350

Design and appearance

The joint development of eBuyNow and Motorola has brought good results, this primarily concerns the hardware of the Moto 360. The developers chose aluminum for the case material for the new model, and stainless steel for the bezel, as a result, the watch looks like a premium device.

The case is small in size and has a corresponding 1.2-inch screen. In my opinion, the design is rough and the Moto 360 (2019) looks bulky on a thin wrist. The installed round AMOLED display is bright, with good viewing angles. The pixel density of this 390x390 screen is not as high as that of other smartwatch models, and as a result, some grain is noticeable.

On the right side there are two physical controls: on top there is a rotating crown that acts as a home button, and on the bottom there is a button responsible for quick actions. Motorola watches are available in three color variations: a steel-colored case with a brown leather or silicone strap; phantom black case with black leather or the same silicone strap; in rose gold color and tandem with silicone white or brown leather strap.

Advantages: The list of advantages is quite long: 1. Good and bright screen. There is no grain or visible pixels! Pixels are visible only at a distance of 2-5 cm from the watch (Do you ever look at a watch like that?...) 2. Android Wear + app from Motorola gives the watch great potential and usefulness! I never use “OK Google”, but it’s a pleasure to do it on the watch. The watch gives a short, but beautiful and informative answer if the answer to your question is in the Google database, for example, “the capital of Honduras,” and if there is no answer, then links are provided that with one click open the link no longer on your phone - convenient! 3. Alerts! Everything that comes to your phone will be noted on the watch. There is no need to configure anything, and VKontakte, Whatsapp, and SMS send notifications to the watch perfectly. Calls also come, and on the watch you can reset the call or answer (but, having answered, you will have to talk on the phone). By the way, both notifications and calls have a background (the picture that is assigned to you on your phone or an avatar in VK, for example) - it turns out very beautifully. 4. A large number of amazing watch faces from many enthusiasts, and a full-fledged editor for realizing your own ideas. 5. I don’t really need the ability to control music, because everything is on the headphone cord, but it might be useful for someone. 6. Navigation works in conjunction with the phone, but the watch works well.

Disadvantages: I have not yet discovered any obvious shortcomings, but there are controversial “solutions”: 1. Black stripe at the bottom. Yes, yes, everyone and everywhere talks about it, but there is no escape from it. I am sure that Motorola engineers had no other choice, and I am not their judge. We must pay tribute that all services and notifications are tailored to this strip, and therefore it quickly ceases to attract attention. 2. Battery! And not a watch, as you might think, but a phone!!! Constant Bluetooth and 4g/Wi-Fi connections for full operation of the watch greatly drain the phone’s battery. During normal activity (check the time, steps, heart rate, make several Google queries, control music) the watch runs out in 1.5 days. I bought them after the battery update came out, so I can’t say whether it fixed anything. 3. I'm afraid that Android Wear is already at the peak of its functionality. There is nowhere for it to develop further, there are 5-6 third-party convenient and, probably, necessary applications, but you can’t “build” anything else into the watch. Even with the introduction of new battery technologies, neither watching videos nor surfing the Internet will become convenient. Personally, I think that smartwatches are like a bright star (but for some just space junk) that quickly burned out in the firmament of the dark and boring gadget market of 2013+. 4. Unfortunately, I don’t like the Google map with my route and traffic jams to work and home. The map is drawn perfectly, but the blue stripe of the route lies on top of the information about traffic jams, and therefore I don’t see traffic jams along my route. I really liked the map itself and the estimated time. 5. If you suddenly don’t like the watch and want to return it, then you will be disappointed - the first time you put on the watch, the leather folds/creases characteristically, and it will never be “like new” again! This does not speak about the quality of the leather, it is wonderful, from the famous leather company Horween Leather, but about possible problems when returning/exchanging goods!

Comment: I spent a very long time choosing between Moto 360 and LG G Watch R! There were many pros and cons for both models. But I still chose the Moto 360. Mainly because I wanted something futuristic and unusual, and LG looks very much like a simple G-Shock with a tiny screen in the middle. Yes, LG has a better screen, a bigger battery and no stripes, but they are BORING! I'm very pleased with the purchase, I like everything so far! But, if you have other ideas and desires, think twice before spending 14,000+ rubles. on a small wrist computer. Want to attract attention? Will do! Do you want a super computer on your hand? Absolutely not. I hope my review will be useful. I'll update it in a month!

Interface and software

I have to upset all those who dreamed of seeing the dials that the previous generation had on the new Moto 360. The 2019 version has just one pre-installed watch face from Motorola, called Ustwo Looks. But there are nine pre-loaded styles, with the possibility of manual settings.

The performance of any smartwatch largely depends on how well the software works. Unfortunately, Wear OS is still a bit clunky, thanks to the lack of frequent feature updates. However, Motorola is making every effort to iron out these shortcomings. For example, I really liked that Google Assistant is just a tap away, and that the Tiles feature makes it easy to launch apps.

Review of the new Moto 360 3rd gen: WearOS is dead, long live WearOS

A couple of weeks ago I was reproached that my posts were too pretentious for Zamkadye (I don’t want to offend anyone, this is a quote), so this time the WearOS watch that I want to show is from a different price category: Moto 360 3rd GEN.

For me the Moto 360 is the best watch of all time

I’ll start, as always, with a little background, my impressions, so that you understand with what feeling I took on this model.

Many, many years ago, for the age of technology - a whole abyss of years ago, I fell in love with the "First Round Watch on Android Wear." Now Android Wear is gone, but the pens are remembered. By the way, I’m not the only one who fell in love with them: in 2020, analysts recognized that this is the most popular watch among users.

I loved the classic round design and have never worn a watch of any other shape. It was convenient that everything worked out of the box, no relocations, Russian in all notifications at once - beauty... And, of course, a compass and a ruler are the best friends of a watch designer: absolute symmetry.

Then the model was updated to index 2. The developers’ vision failed me, and I experienced my first disappointment: the button moved up... Well, hey, who does that?! However, then I appreciated the demarche towards Google from the largest developers: it seems that Huawei, Moto and someone else, due to conditions and the lack of adequate updates, began to abandon the platform.

Well, how courageous and united, I thought. But an interview with Moto came out, where the person in charge of the wearable admitted that in fact, they do not think that the time has come, etc. This short-sightedness outraged me. Thus, in my memory: I have 1 on 1: The first hours - an incredible positive emotion, nostalgia, joy, and the second - left some kind of disappointment, resentment. And so, Moto 360 3rd GEN came out.

Who made it

Motorola still remains true to itself: the watch owes its update to eBuynow. Everything is legal, all rights are delegated, and formally even on the official website of the international Motorola there is a blessing, the watch has been added to the range of official products:

There is no doubt that this is a continuation of those good old Moto 360. Plus, you are first greeted by a round box, then a round watch and, of course, WearOS. From what I have managed to understand, it seems to me that 3rd GEN is more of an homage to the first watch than the second.

Design

The watch, as you can see from the first photo, is available in three shades. Each case is a single piece of stainless steel: gray, black, rose gold. They approached the materials with sufficient chic: they reinforced the case with titanium screws, so that they are quite “precious metals”. PVD coated steel.

The second button balances the body from the point of view of symmetry. And here, as users of VKontakte public pages say: “My admiration” (tm). And everything is done very well here. Firstly, the much-needed and convenient digital crown is added, and it is combined here with the top active button.

The new third-generation Gorilla is, of course, good against scratches and chips, but it doesn’t help much against fingerprints. Therefore, I like the idea of pointing my finger at the glass less, especially since this tool as a whole covers my needs (and capabilities) by 90%. have a connection with IOS - but more on that a little later, with your permission.

The second button can optionally be configured to call some popular function for you: for me it’s PAY. I’ll especially note the location here: in fact, the fact that there are two buttons and the fact that they are spaced apart is much more convenient for me. I have another watch with three buttons, and I’ll tell you that periodically it’s a real pleasure:

Other WearOS watches

Black Moto 360

On the left, the digital crown periodically digs into the hand. Plus, it’s quite sensitive as a button, so pressing and calling Google Assistant is quite common. Moto 360 is frankly more comfortable with this. The body itself looks a little lighter, freer, more youthful or something, which we, thirty-year-olds, also need to keep in mind.

Between the buttons there is a microphone. The case itself has a thickness of 3 mm. Includes two pairs of interchangeable straps. Gray steel looks better with brown leather. On the back there is a heart rate monitor and charging sockets.

About charging - separately

Here I’ll quote, perhaps, Alexander Nikolaevich Bashlachev: “I love because it hurts, or it hurts because I love.” Always, every time, my colossal loyalty to WearOS rests on one small nuance: the nuance with autonomy. That is, this is really love through pain.

Yes, I understand that this is a full-fledged smart watch, that it is a full-fledged complex operating system, and that smartphones nowadays don’t last longer than a day with normal human use, but I want it longer, like an insatiable young lady. I admit that WearOS is still slightly losing this battle for autonomy, but! Everything is radically better in Moto 360. Battery capacity 355 mAh.

With quiet use - up to 2 days. The charging docking station here is not contactless:

But it is fast: from 0 to 100% the watch is charged in 1 hour. And this is also, IMHO, a small victory.

That is, in fact, the situation has improved, but it was solved on two sides: Qualcomm added a little autonomy, became less energy-consuming, plus a compromise solution - fast charge. It's fine, I accept it.

But that I am all about myself and about myself. What's with the clock?

In order not to bore you, but give me free rein - I can write endlessly, I’ll tell you a couple more features that I liked, and then I’ll show you a couple of screenshots of the software. So, the previous hardware from the good corporation was difficult for me, and I radically denied some things: now I use IOS and am happy. Some processes in Android devices took a long time to start, and the gadgets themselves were slow. What can I say, if you remember the very first Moto - then speed, productivity, multitasking - these are words that, it seems, have never been addressed to watches. Receive two notifications at once from different talkers while the player is running and... hang for 5 minutes.

The new Moto 360 is different. It is, of course, difficult for WearOS devices to develop faster than the market, because there are too many dependencies and variables, but the fact that the new Moto is “in step with the times” is clear! Qualcomm hardware can handle absolutely any scenario.

The watch is the fastest, the response is the fastest, access to applications is instantaneous, the interface is the smoothest. Here is the latest production Wear 3100 processor , 1/8 GB of memory . That is, I have never observed overload with internal stand-alone applications.

By the way, I saw it in combination with WearOS + an Intel processor from another brand, when the extra installed Telegram killed the clock completely. Well, or it just coincided... In this sense, I liked the idea of dividing different messengers in different directions. Moreover...

WearOS has become more convenient and less demanding. Although not for everyone

Speech synthesis, answering with a keyboard or scribbling on the screen with a good level of handwriting recognition. There are several options for communication and working with notifications.

The voice is recognized well and far enough away so as not to seem strange from the outside, communicating with the clock. There is no need to look for a secluded place.

But here you need to remember this: the capabilities of WearOS for Android and IOS owners are very different. And first of all, this applies specifically to working with notifications. If Android users can respond and read in any way, then IOS owners can only see .

This only applies to notifications from a smartphone! That is, in the case of directly downloaded applications, and I downloaded Telegram directly from the watch store, IOS owners also have access to all functions: viewing the application, replying, etc.

For me, this is normal. I would even say optimal, and in general I consider WearOS to be a fairly friendly operating system in relation to an IOS phone, and a round watch is the only possible design for myself. Most functions, such as attaching cards, quick access to this or that application, payment, etc., work equally correctly. The nuances that emerged:

  • You can't take a screenshot of your watch screen on iOS.
  • I can't connect a second watch in WearOS without unplugging the currently connected device

Payment

Our homeland occupies one of the leading places in the world in contactless payment. Having driven away from the village to the nearest village, I easily find a normal terminal in any hastily put together store from sticks and boards. Paying without a wallet is convenient.

At one time, a card with contactless payment became a revelation for me. Then 7Plus appeared, which simply doubled the joy from scratch. Now - a wallet on your wrist. This alone would be enough for me to look towards the clock.

As indicated in official materials, the Moto 360 integrates the latest NFC chip, which is located as close as possible structurally to the glass. Payment, in my opinion, happens quite quickly and comfortably. Sometimes it requires a PIN code. Here's the story with the pin code.

It is required

If you add a map to your watch, the block becomes mandatory. Of course, you don’t need to enter it every time, but you need to set it. It will automatically turn on when the watch is removed from the wrist - a level of security. As long as you wear them, everything is fine. I sometimes encounter a problem of this nature: I’m used to wearing a watch without a tight fit, I like it when it dangles a little on my hand. They probably lose their wrist sometimes, they lose their pulse - hence I have to enter the pin more often than I would like.

Google's WearOS

By and large, the application is needed in order to connect the watch. You can also set them up through the watch itself, of course. However, there is a section with basic settings. The WearOS application is simple, understandable, and probably even familiar to many. It, unlike the WearOS system, changes little and reluctantly.

After the first connection, which takes a little time, everything happens quickly. There’s really no point in climbing there unless you need to add card screens - these are quick, informative things like the weather, which can be accessed on the watch by swiping to the left.

And so - well, look at the dials in good resolution:

In general, readers will forgive me, I would not go into detail here. Statistics about steps and heart rate are routinely collected in Google FIT. Judging by the description, Google’s artificial intelligence has now learned a lot, a lot: automatic recognition of activities and their tracking, but here - alas - I can’t advise you: I’m not an athlete.

Google FIT for tracking, although it has changed for the better, is still not the best Google app. The correct addition, in my opinion, is “cardioballs”. These are points that are awarded not just for the fact that you walk 10,000 steps, but for the useful load on the heart, for real activity. This is analyzed using a heart rate monitor. It’s easier to score such points here than it was in the Mio Global ecosystem, but it’s still much better.

Pulse is interval. On average once every few seconds depending on activity. But sleep is borrowed: WearOS users should remember this, but just in case - once again: to track heart rate in GFit you need third-party software that can be downloaded directly from the watch store - the most popular is Sleep as Android. He also has his own software for the phone.

I don’t understand why Google needs such a crutch, but for now it wanders from version to version. However, I, for example, generally take off any watch as soon as I cross the threshold of the house: for me, there is no problem in my life at all. But there are, I know, other users.

Moto 360 3rd - my conclusion

  • I am biased and loyal in absentia, therefore I was ready to put up with many compromises and treat many things with understanding. I liked the watch, I missed the brand because I became sentimental with age, the interface seemed very convenient to me, the screen is bright enough in the dark and in the sun, the performance is good, everything happens quickly and without stuttering.
  • I'm glad that the watch has returned to users and I believe that it will find its buyer quite soon. In Russia, the price is announced at 25,990 rubles for any version.
  • In terms of materials and appearance, it’s nice to look at and comfortable to wear. On the hand they look modern and quite prestigious, but not too large!
  • Plus, these are the latest current specifications, so for now this is the top build.

Knowing my weakness, I decided to read what those who should not be biased write: the Western democratic geek press. I noticed that I was generally on the same page as the experts: many of them are happy about the return of the watch, but are somewhat skeptical about the capabilities of WearOS. I read Verge, PCMag, Techradar, and everywhere I found literally quotes from what I wrote for you above. Convenient, functional, high quality, but some people don’t like the fact that there is no sleep tracking, some complain about the still weak battery life, etc.

Perhaps the most controversial point for me remains the verdict of Verge, whose editors are annoyed that you can’t swim. But you can just swim! The manufacturer claims that the watch is exceptionally airtight, which has also been confirmed experimentally by thousands of swims.

But still, the Moto 360 is not the class of device where I would separate the OS from the hardware in which it is located: so I have to form a holistic impression of the product as a whole, and, probably, my sentimentality will outweigh here: I liked the watch.

Moto 360 - characteristics of the third version

Performance

The two main problems with all Wear OS smartwatches have always been performance and battery life. However, with the new Moto 360 (2019), you can forget about this. Thanks to the efforts of eBuyNow developers, the new model of the wearable gadget received a very good filling: a Qualcomm Snapdragon 3100 chip, 1 GB of RAM, and as much as 8 GB of internal memory with a 355 mAh battery.

Performance also did not disappoint; in terms of speed, the updated Moto 360 is in no way inferior to models like the Galaxy Watch Active 2 or Fossil Gen 5. However, when turning on the Google voice assistant, I noticed a slight slowdown, but this is typical for all watches with Wear OS.

However, having equipped its new smartwatch with such good hardware, the manufacturer did not bother to add such important options as a speaker to the design. A necessary element to receive incoming calls and listen to voice assistant prompts. They also didn’t include LTE support, apparently thinking that Bluetooth and Wi-Fi would be enough.

Do not dispose of mobile phones or their electrical accessories, such as chargers or headsets, with your household waste. Some countries or regions have established collection and recycling systems for electrical and electronic components. Contact your local authorities for more detailed information. If the collection and recycling system is not established, return your unwanted cellular phones and electrical accessories to any authorized Motorola service center in your region.

Sports options

Most manufacturers are actively introducing options for tracking fitness loads and health into their new smartwatch models. And Motorola followed the same path, equipping the new device with a heart rate sensor and GPS. Of course, I would like to see a heart rate monitor here, as well as an ECG function, but, alas.

As for the heart rate sensor in the Moto 360, its performance during tests was almost the same as the data obtained with Garmin Forerunner 245 Music and Wahoo Tickr X. Each of the three devices showed a peak heart rate in the range of 163–165 while running on a treadmill. beats per minute.

Motorola Phone

Yesterday, we finally received an update for the Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch and now we can talk in detail about what has changed with the release of the new version of Android Wear 5.1.1. Which came out with some delay due to the fact that Motorola was initially dissatisfied with the performance of the Moto 360 with the new firmware version. The update does not depend on the operating system version of your smartphone, I use a Moto 360, with a second generation Moto X smartphone, which still runs Android 5.0.

The Moto 360 interface has been changed quite a bit, but the watch has become much more convenient to use. First of all, thanks to the fact that you can now access active applications, settings, contacts and many other functions by simply swiping from left to right.

The first screen you access contains your apps, which are automatically sorted by frequency of use. The next screen contains your list of favorites and recently used contacts. You can call and send a message from your contacts list.

The action menu with the Google Now call button has moved to the third display. Overall, I get the impression that Android Wear has become more focused on managing alerts and third-party apps.

Another new feature is the always-on display. If previously you could use a black-and-white version of the display to save battery power, when using maps, for example, now you can enable the information on the display to always be displayed in black and white and with reduced brightness.

In the sun, of course, you won’t be able to see anything, but indoors the information can be read quite comfortably.

In order to activate the active display, go to settings and turn on the “Always active screen” function.

Please note that an active display may drain battery power.

Another new feature that's been added to Settings is the ability to swipe through notifications with a swipe of your wrist, although I find this to be a bit too jerky and only good for when your other hand is busy.

To activate the feature, go to the “Wrist Gestures” settings.

On most sites, the description of the Moto 360 smartwatch does not indicate Wi-Fi support, but nevertheless, it is present and the latest update to Android Wear 5.1.1 activates this function.

To activate Wi-Fi on your Moto 360 watch, you will need to go to settings and select the network to connect to.

To complete the setup, you will need to enter your Wi-Fi password on your phone.

Your devices will now be synced via the cloud and you can receive notifications on your watch via Wi-Fi.

Now you won’t be as tied to your smartphone as before, but to be honest, I couldn’t think of many options for using this function; if you decide to leave your phone at home, you won’t be able to connect to the new Wi-Fi network anyway. Fi, without your device, which means notifications will not be available to you. The only scenario that I found suitable for myself was a large office or apartment, where the Bluetooth signal is not picked up in the next room, then by connecting the watch to Wi-Fi, you don’t have to carry your smartphone with you from room to room.

As we already wrote in our news, notifications are no longer exclusive to the home screen. Even if you're interacting with another app, you'll see notifications at the bottom of the display. And they will be stored in your notification thread for later viewing.

Another new feature is emojis that you can draw to send to friends or family. In reality, this feature works a little differently than it seemed after the announcement, you set the basic strokes of the drawing, and your Moto 360 selects several suitable emoji from the available options. There are quite a lot of them:

One thing is true, if you are communicating with one of your friends who uses, for example, an iPhone, then your artwork will most likely not be available to him; he will see one of the usual standard emoticons for iOS, which most closely matches what was sent.

Finally, the built-in Moto Body fitness app has a wider range of features and more options to help you achieve your fitness goals.

Options include sending a weekly update email to help you stick to your goals and set new ones.

A detailed look at the new features of Moto 360 with Android 5.1.1. And if you don’t have your own smart watch, hurry up and order from our online store!

Autonomy Moto 360 (2019)

What really pleased me about this device is the battery life. During testing, I found that with the display always on, by the end of the day (about 16 hours of operation), the gadget still had about 40% charge left. This is more than enough for the Moto 360 (2019) to track your sleep all night long. Admittedly, this is a significant improvement, considering that many Wear OS watches are on their last legs by the end of the day.

In addition, it takes only 1 hour to recharge the battery to 100%; not many smartwatches can boast such fast charging. Those expecting a high-end desktop charger to come with the Moto 360 will be disappointed. The charger here is a washer, to the bottom of which is attached a cable that connects to the outlet. It looks a little strange and seems unreliable.

Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch review

28.11.2014

Today we received the stylish Moto 360 watch from Motorola, expected by many fans of wearable smart accessories. Since the announcement of this gadget, there has been a lot of talk about it, primarily because of its design. Moto 360 combines design and functionality, which is why the model caused a stir among Android smartphone users even before sales began. With the advent of such a class of devices as smart watches, many manufacturers have forgotten what a watch should look like. As a result, two types of accessories can now be distinguished on the market for such devices: functional, but more reminiscent of a futuristic wrist computer, and less functional, but stylish and expensive. Motorola approached the creation of its own watch, as it seems to us, from the most correct point of view; as a result, we have a stylish and fashionable, but functional accessory. Let's start the review right from the box - like the accessory itself, it is beautiful and round and could easily pass for a gift even without additional packaging. The set of accessories is a spartan minimum: a cable and wireless charging (with which it is very convenient to charge the watch by simply placing it on this stand and leaving it for a couple of hours), as well as, of course, brief instructions. The watch comes standard with a leather strap, but for an additional fee a steel bracelet is also available, with a design reminiscent of that of the Swiss brand Rado. The gadget is available in several colors; we received a model in black. The stylish metal case looks very unusual, especially considering that this is a smart watch after all. All buttons are made with high quality, the action is very pleasant. The gadget looks great on the hand; fans of massive chronographs will be especially pleased. The display occupies the maximum of the front panel, so when it turns on, the first time the Moto 360 causes a “WOW” effect. The watch screen is completely round, with the exception of a small part at the bottom where the light sensor is located, which helps to significantly increase battery life. On the bottom of the watch case there is a heartbeat sensor, which is easily recognized by the LEDs. Yes - Moto 360 will also replace a fitness bracelet for many. The screen of the accessory has a fairly high resolution by the standards of wearable gadgets, but despite this, upon careful examination, the pixels are visible. Also, sometimes you can see twitching animations due to an insufficiently powerful processor, but this happens infrequently and this can be forgiven for the relatively new Android Wear platform. The Moto 360 sensor has good sensitivity and all functions are convenient to use. The new Android Wear platform on the Moto 360 creates a pleasant experience: many functions, convenient gesture controls, a large selection of extensions - if you wish, you can even surf the browser directly from the watch. The watch itself also left a pleasant impression, primarily due to its design. I was a little disappointed by the not-so-high-quality screen, jerky animation in places and shorter battery life than I would like, but let’s hope that some of these shortcomings will be corrected, if not by updating the software, then in the new version of Moto 360.

Motorola Moto 360

An exclusive gadget for real geeks

Bottom line

The new Moto 360 (2019) is rightfully one of the best smartwatches on Wear OS. First of all, thanks to battery autonomy and performance, something that most other competitors cannot boast of.

The only thing I don't like about the device is the platform on which the wearable mobile device runs. As a rule, all the errors that arose when using Motorola watches were related to the operating system, which Google pays little attention to, rarely releasing patches and updates.

Is it worth buying?

This new model will cost you a lot - 21 thousand rubles. ($350). However, once you buy it, you will definitely be satisfied.

Advantages

  • Stylish design.
  • Good autonomy.
  • There is GPS, NFC and a heart rate sensor.
  • Accurate heart rate sensor.

Flaws

  • Expensive.
  • Wear OS is still a clunky OS.
  • Not the best charger.

If you use other personal medical devices, contact their manufacturer to determine their RF immunity rating. Perhaps your doctor can help you obtain this type of information.

Use while driving a car

Check to see if using phones while driving is legal according to local laws and regulations. Always follow these instructions.

When using your phone while driving, please follow these guidelines:

Focus all your attention on the driving process and

road conditions. Using a phone can be a distraction in certain environments. Stop talking if you can't concentrate on driving.

Use a headset for hands-free communication

(handsfree headset), if available.

If road conditions require it, pull off the road and

stop before you make or answer a call.

Some tips for safe driving can be found in the Wireless Phone Precautions section at the end of this manual or on the Motorola website: www.motorola.com/callsmart.

Operating Warnings

For vehicles equipped with an airbag

Do not place the phone on the air cushion or in its area. Airbags inflate very quickly and generate significant force. If the phone is located in the area where the airbag is located, then when it is activated, the device can be thrown out with very great force and cause serious injury to anyone in the car.

Petrol or gas filling stations

Observe all warning labels regarding the use of electronic equipment at petrol or gas filling stations. Turn off your wireless device unless required to do so by authorized personnel.

Potentially explosive atmosphere

Turn off your phone before entering an area with a potentially explosive atmosphere. Do not remove, install, or charge batteries in such an environment. A spark in a potentially explosive environment can cause an explosion or fire, which can cause personal injury or even death.

Note.

Potentially explosive areas include areas with the presence of fuels and lubricants (for example, below the deck of a ship), facilities for transporting or storing fuel or chemicals, rooms where there are chemicals in the air or

particles such as fibres, dust or metal dust. Potentially explosive areas are usually (but not always) marked accordingly.

Igniters and ignition areas

To prevent possible fires, TURN OFF your phone when you are near electrical triggers, in areas where there is a risk of fire, or in areas where "Turn Off Electronic Devices" signs are posted. Follow all signs and instructions.

Damaged products

If your phone has been exposed to water, been subjected to severe shock, or has been damaged, do not attempt to use it until a Motorola Authorized Service Provider has assessed the extent of the damage to your phone. Do not try to dry it using external heating devices, such as a microwave oven.

Batteries and chargers

Batteries can cause property damage and/or personal injury, such as burns, if exposed terminals come into contact with conductive materials (e.g., jewelry, keys, chains). Conductive materials may cause short circuits and become very hot. Use caution when handling any charged batteries, especially if placing them in a pocket, bag, or case that contains metal objects. Use only genuine Motorola Original™ labeled batteries and chargers. Attention!

To reduce the risk of injury, do not dispose of batteries by incineration.
