Classic five-inch LTE smartphones costing about ten thousand rubles. Very pleasant in everyday use. Very worthy. I’ll say right away: overall, I’m satisfied.
And it all started funny. Honor 6A and Honor 6C are practically twins. Both in appearance and in characteristics. They are so similar that by mistake they sent me 6C instead of the promised 6A. And they are so close that it took me several days to notice that something was wrong...
Briefly about the main thing.
Honor 6C is six months older. Because of this, alas, only the sixth Android. But the rest is in complete order. Lots of memory (3 + 32 GB), excellent battery, very decent camera. The hardware is not top-notch, but even with serious games there are no problems. Not to mention Twitter browsers. The screen resolution is not high, but at five inches this is enough for me.
Honor 6A. Three thousand rubles cheaper - nine versus twelve. Android is not a six, but already a seven, this is also a plus. Now about the main thing, now let's look for the cons.
— Slightly weaker processor? Little things. Irrelevant. — Less memory — 2 + 16 GB. God bless the RAM, that's what less flash memory is - very significant, because... The memory card is installed instead of the second SIM card. - Screen. Instead of 2.5D rounding and a magnificent oleophobic coating, there is an indistinct film and ancient edges around the glass. It's annoying, but, in principle, you can put up with it. - Most offensive. Camera. The number of megapixels is the same, but the quality is very different.
Otherwise, there are no significant differences between the devices.
Now about everything in a little more detail.
Appearance
6A Weight | 143 g |
6A Size | 143.7 x 70.95 x 8.2 mm |
6C Weight | 138 g |
6C Size | 143.5 x 69.9 x 7.6 mm |
Protection | No |
Both smartphones are available in three colors - gold (white front), silver (also white front), gray (black front).
Matte metal body. Nice build. On-screen buttons. There is an LED. I have no questions about appearance, nothing to complain about.
Some boring details
Above the screen everything is traditional - speaker, sensors, front camera. There's also an LED here.
Under the screen there is the inscription “Honor” and nothing more.
Behind. Everything interesting is above. Camera, flash nearby. Below the camera is a fingerprint sensor.
On the top edge there is a 3.5 mm audio output and a microphone for noise reduction.
At the bottom there is a Micro-USB connector. On the sides there are two gratings. Under one there is a speaker, under the other there is a microphone.
On the right side is the power button and volume rocker.
On the left is the card tray. Either two Nano-SIMs, or one SIM card and a memory card.
⇡#Appearance and ergonomics
As we said, Huawei Honor 3 looked ordinary, gray, faceless. The only thing I remember is the mother-of-pearl ends, but I remember, frankly speaking, as a negative feature, not a positive one. Honor 6 is clearly better in terms of design. There is no talk of our own full-fledged “face” yet - it’s still a hodgepodge of different ideas from other manufacturers, put together, but it’s better this way than with mother-of-pearl sidewalls.
Huawei Honor 6
In general, the Honor 6 body brings back memories of the new iPhone with the same number in the name, only it is a couple of square millimeters larger. Well, really, except that there is no round button at the bottom of the front panel and the sensors are shifted to the left. Speaking of the Home button: if desired, Huawei engineers could fit it there - there is a lot of free space. However, as befits a modern Android smartphone, the three standard keys “Back”, “Home” and “Open Applications” on the Honor 6 are touch sensitive and are located directly on the display.
Huawei Honor 6 - front panel
The dimensions of the smartphone are small. The thickness of the case is 7.5 millimeters, and the weight is only 130 grams. Your hands don’t get tired from prolonged interaction with the device - the gadget is not too heavy, but you can’t call it too airy and weightless either. And its dimensions are close to optimal: the diagonal of the Honor 6 display is five inches, but it can be used with one hand. The thumb can easily reach all four sides of the screen.
Huawei Honor 6 with screen on
A stylized metal edging runs along the side edges of the case, which breaks off closer to the bottom end. To be honest, this is a standard and rather hackneyed element of the decor of the smartphone body, which most “classmates” of Honor 6 have. It’s time to come up with something new.
Huawei Honor 6 - hardware keys
The lock and volume keys are located on the top end, right under the right thumb. The buttons are small, with a barely noticeable relief, with a short and distinct stroke - they are easy to use “blindly”. Next to the hardware keys there is a flap that hides slots for Micro-SIM and microSD cards. At the same time, Honor 6 does not have protection against dust and moisture.
Huawei Honor 6 - slots for SIM cards and memory cards
The layout of the interfaces is familiar. The Micro-USB connector is located on the bottom end, and the 3.5 mm audio jack, with which you can connect a wired headset to your smartphone, is on the top. An infrared port appeared next to it, designed to control household appliances. At the same ends there are two microphones, with the help of which a dynamic noise reduction system is implemented.
Huawei Honor 6 - interface layout
The back panel of the smartphone is covered with a plate of selected protective glass Corning Gorilla Glass 3, behind which is hidden a clever texture that creates an effect a la ASUS Zenbook. The main camera lens does not protrude from the body; there is a barely noticeable protective rim around it. Next to it is a dual LED flash. The music speaker is also placed on the “back”: when the smartphone is lying on the table with the display up, the sound is somewhat muffled.
Huawei Honor 6 - rear panel
The smartphone case is non-separable. Honor 6 comes in two colors - black and white. Honor 6 is not very suitable for lovers of particularly fashionable gadgets - its design, despite everything, is discreet: a phone is like a phone.

The Snapdragon 430/435 chipsets are very similar in their characteristics. Yes, sure. Theoretically, the speed of memory (both RAM and flash) also affects the speed of smartphones. Plus, the operating systems are different, and even with different bit depths.
I honestly took a stopwatch and began to torture both smartphones simultaneously. Opening web pages, books, application loading speed - that's all. Not. Well, yes, on average 6C is a little faster. But the difference is within the measurement error, by and large.
Three gigabytes of RAM are, of course, better than two. But it’s still quite possible to live with two.
But 16 GB of flash memory (of which only 8 GB is free) and a hybrid slot - this, of course, Huawei did in vain. Here the 6C has a huge advantage over its brother. On the other hand, if you don’t need a second SIM card, you don’t need to pay much attention to the amount of flash memory. Install a good, capacious Micro-SD and that’s the end of it.
The set of sensors is strictly identical - I even checked their names. Accelerometer, proximity, illumination, compass. Plus a fingerprint scanner on the back, which I already mentioned. There is no gyroscope.
The finger sensor, by the way, is very good.

Analysis of Honor parameters
Why is this smartphone so attractive to buyers and why has it won a place on the first shelves of stores? Its characteristics will directly answer these questions:
- has an attractive design, without unnecessary details, as well as a classic color palette;
- Metal body;
- Availability of fingerprint function;
- Fast charging;
- The Honor 6c pro display has good performance – resolution, color accuracy, viewing angle;
- Availability of ophleophobic coating;
- A fairly high-quality camera for a mid-range smartphone;
- Wide selection of accessories;
- Inexpensive and easy to maintain.
Huawei phone repair
Of course, the need to repair damage on absolutely any phone is a very unpleasant procedure. Since the purchase of components, as well as payment for their installation, can cost a tidy sum.
However, for owners of the “6c pro”, a pleasant bonus will be that spare parts for Huawei Honor, even in their original version, do not cost that much if you order them on our website, since we work directly with the manufacturer, guaranteeing that there are no additional markups on the cost and originality of every detail. Here you will find not only a wide selection of components: displays, cameras, acoustic units, batteries, various connectors, SIM trays, microcircuits, cases, buttons, but you can also directly order their replacement service.
One of the most common problems with which users contact service centers is a problem with the screen, which has several nuances.
- If there are interruptions in the operation of the matrix cable, the phone can be disassembled quite easily, without the need to use any special equipment. To open the back cover you will need:
- remove the SIM tray using a special key;
Unscrew the two bolts located on the sides of the USB connector using a Phillips screwdriver of the required size;
- carefully open the cover so as not to damage the fingerprint sensor cable;
- remove the battery;
- remove the old cable;
- install a new part by connecting all contacts;
- complete the assembly.
- When your Huawei touchscreen is not working properly - there is no response to touches across the entire screen area or there are “dead zones”, then it would be best to replace the entire display module. This is due to the fact that modern screens are manufactured as one continuous piece. That is, there is no delamination into the matrix, touchscreen and glass. All these elements are tightly fastened together with factory lamination.
Of course, you can separate them and notice only the sensor, but this will not give you significant cost savings, since the touchscreen itself, as well as the cost of such work, will ultimately give almost the same result as when purchasing a whole module.
3. Another thing is chips and cracks in the top layer of the display. If your glass is simply broken, but the matrix and sensor are not damaged, then, of course, it’s a pity to overpay for the entire module set, because glass is the most inexpensive element of its entire design.
In such cases, it is best to seek help from a specialist who specializes in delamination of display elements and can carefully carry out this procedure. You need to contact trusted service centers that not only have a good reputation, but will also provide you with a guarantee for all work performed.

Suddenly. According to the official store, smartphones have different LTE bands... And the absence of Band 20 on Honor 6A is at least strange.
Alas, there is no support for 5 GHz Wi-Fi, no NFC, and no ability to connect OTG devices.
Theoretically, Snapdragon 435 can support LTE 300/150 Mbit/s. In practice, only category 4, 150/50 Mbit/s is declared for both smartphones.
Memory and memory card
Honor 6x exists in two versions: 3/32 and 4/64 gigabytes of RAM and permanent memory, respectively. However, only the junior model with 3 gigabytes of RAM and 32 gigabytes of flash memory is supplied to the Russian market.
Such characteristics today are the norm for the mid-budget segment, and entering this market with less memory is simply not respecting yourself. Huawei understands this very well and emphasizes it, hoping that the buyer will be attracted by the tempting numbers in the characteristics. As for the technical side, three gigabytes of RAM is currently enough for all tasks and there is even a small reserve for the future, so you don’t have to worry about this parameter for now.
About 24 out of 32 gigabytes of permanent memory are available to the user. And this is actually a reason to think about buying a memory card. Of course, on-board flash memory is much faster than a removable card, but 24 gigabytes in modern conditions can run out quite quickly if you don’t take care of the free space. By the way, the 6x supports memory cards up to 128 gigabytes, but when using it you will have to sacrifice a second SIM card, since the SIM card tray is combined. That's how things are.

Good screens. Subjectively, the 6C seems to be a little nicer. But this is so... Only if you look at them side by side and meticulously compare. The 6A's screen is also in perfect order. Plus even a little brighter.
I already cursed at the film and the lack of oleophobic coating on the 6A at the very beginning of the review.
Installing TWRP recovery
Previously, ClockworkMod (aka CWM) was a common recovery for almost all major Android devices. Since then, a lot has changed, a new service has appeared, which has received many critical reviews, but also a huge user base. TeamWin Recovery Project, or TWRP for short, is a full-touch custom recovery that was originally designed for Nexus devices, but has since become available for countless other smartphones and tablets in the form of both official and third-party builds.
Recovery sequence:
- Before flashing a Huawei phone, create a new folder in the phone memory or on the SD card and rename it dload.
- Download the Huawei Stock firmware and copy the update.zip file to the dload folder.
- Enter the device into Twrp Recovery.
- Turn off the device.
- Press the volume up and the power button at the same time to enter the TWRP custom recovery.
- They proceed to the installation, find the update.zip file and flash it.
- Once the update process is completed, click Wipe cache/dalvik to clear the original ROM and reboot your Huawei device.
Operating system and other software
Honor 6A – Android 7.0 Nougat + EMUI 5.1.
Honor 6C - Android 6.0 Marshmallow + EMUI 4.1.
Interestingly, the 6A operates in 32-bit mode, while the 6C operates in 64-bit mode.
There were no problems with notifications on any smartphone. Almost. It was a wonderful catch... I can’t even call it a glitch, actually.
Telegram allows you to customize the color of the LED indicator. And by default this color is blue. But none of the smartphones can blink blue. And it doesn't blink at all. There is only one way out - in the Telegram settings manually switch the color to red, for example.

Software platform
The characteristics of the Huawei Honor 6c include the Android operating system version 6.0 and the proprietary EMUI 4.1 shell. Unfortunately, after the release of the pro version of the smartphone, owners of old 6c can no longer count on updating their phones to new versions of the operating system over the air.
In general, the proprietary shell pre-installed in this smartphone does not differ from that in other Huawei products. In particular, in this version there is a notification curtain that is already familiar to us: by swiping your finger from bottom to top across the locked screen, you can call up a submenu where you can find a flashlight, voice recorder, calculator and similar useful applications. Using a fingerprint scanner, you can not only unlock your phone, but also flip through music tracks, answer calls, turn off alarms and view photos. In short, the Huawei proprietary shell, as always, is very convenient and functional.
Battery
The batteries are the same, 3020 mAh. At present, the volume is average. However, they say that Qualcomm is doing well with energy saving.
My battery tests showed 166% of the conventional standard for Honor 6A and 156% for Honor 6C. Not bad. It is possible to drain the battery in the evening if you really want to, but it is difficult.

Performance and hardware
By tradition, Huawei devices are equipped with processors of their own design and production. Honor 6 was no exception. The Kirin 920 is installed here, based on the ARM big.LITTLE architecture. Its main feature is the presence of two groups of nuclei of 4 units each. One group is highly productive, the other is energy efficient. Due to this, the device itself can determine when to turn on powerful cores and when to save energy. By the way, the processor allows you to use these cores in any combination.
RAM – 3 gigabytes, flash memory 16 or 32 gigabytes, depending on the configuration. The device plays any games that you can find on Google Play. It can also play almost any video. The performance of the device is at a very high level; in AnTuTu Honor 6 showed an excellent result of 40 thousand points.
Honor 6A and Honor 6C as cameras
Rear: | 13 MP, AF |
Front: | 5 MP, FF |
Here's a look at the official specifications. And one smartphone has 13 megapixels, and the other. Alas, not just megapixels...
Honor 6C is also, of course, not without sin. And it’s clear that the camera is not top-level. And why to “insulate” pictures in cloudy weather is a separate question. But still, this is a really extremely high-quality camera. Especially if you look at the cost of the device. This is already the level where it’s not a shame to click something from memory and post it on social networks. The ability to shoot normally in the dark was frankly pleasing.
The Honor 6A has a frankly weaker camera. A lot of soap, very low detail - even in ideal sunny conditions. Shooting in the dark is sad. Frankly a “technical” camera, nothing more. Disappointed. Very disappointed.
I recommend downloading full-size photographs for thoughtful study - they are stored in a single archive on Yandex.Disk (approximately 1 GB).

I haven't looked into the front cameras in much detail. It seems to be about the same typical average level. Although no. Perhaps the Honor 6C is still better.
Memory
An equally important criterion for a modern smartphone is the amount of system memory. It is she who indicates how quickly the gadget will work. Honor 6 has as much as 3 GB. This means that the phone will cope with all tasks perfectly. Naturally, the device has a special storage in which the user can save their data. Its volume is 16 GB.
It is important to understand that the smartphone runs an operating system. Its files are also stored in memory, so all 16 will not be available. Of these, the sixth Huawei Honor already has 9.6-10 GB of built-in storage. The smartphone is equipped with a slot for external drives. And if there is an acute shortage of free space, you can always expand it by installing a memory card. The device supports flash drives up to 32 GB.
Honor 6A and Honor 6C as GPS navigators
Both smartphones know about the existence of not only GPS satellites, but also GLONASS with BeiDou.
The tracks here and there are a little sloppy. But in general, there are no problems with navigation. Taking into account the good battery and bright screens, these are almost ideal hiking navigators.

Display
The Huawei Honor 6 X has a 5.5-inch LPTS TFT screen with a resolution of 1080×1920 and a density of 403 ppi per 1 inch. It is equipped with a light sensor and automatic brightness level adjustment. It is protected from minor damage by 2.5D protective glass. If we consider Huawei Honor 6X separately from its predecessors, then the quality of its display can be called excellent. But if we compare it with competitors, then, for example, on the Lenovo K6 Note the image remains equally bright at all viewing angles, while on the Huawei Honor 6X it turns white. Fortunately, this can only be noticed through direct comparison, but in real life it is almost impossible to detect this.
In auto mode, the display backlight, as a rule, does not exceed 40%. The colors come out not too bright, muted. It is not possible to manually raise the display to the maximum level; reaching the maximum brightness of 450 nits is only possible in auto mode and in the sun (the screen remains perfectly readable, and everything is perfectly visible).
The quality of the display on the Honor 6 X is above average for smartphones in this price segment, and it has no serious drawbacks. The sharp reduction in brightness is not annoying: you can easily get used to this feature of this model. The display is very convenient to work with.
In the Huawei Honor 6X display settings, you can select the optimal color temperature, select the appropriate scale for common applications and data in them, and activate eye protection (a special yellow background for images). As part of the mode to improve clarity in the sun, you can set the backlight brightness to maximum (the same 450 nits). When turned off, the backlight is 380 nits.
In general, the Huawei Honor 6X display is not only good in itself, but also boasts a lot of serious features that the user can easily customize.
Honor 6A and Honor 6C as toys
A strange glitch - GTA San Andreas consistently crashes on 6A. Everything else is good. The power of even such not very powerful hardware is quite enough for modern toys. Thanks not to the highest screen resolution.

Regular and forced update
For a normal update, you need to start the device and enter the system update module. Forced update is used only when the device cannot boot or go into standby mode.
Algorithm for the sequence of a regular update, which is performed before flashing Huawei:
- Download the update package.
- Format the Micro SD card.
- Unzip the Update.zip package and copy the entire dload folder with UPDATE.APP to the root directory of the Micro SD card.
- Now open the dialer on the phone and enter: * # * # 2846579 # * # * -> ProjectMenu-> Software Update-> SDCard Update-> OK, update process.
- Select Update.app, moved to the SD card in the root directory.
- A screen will appear that shows the installation process and wait for it to complete.
- When the progress bar stops, the phone will automatically reboot.
Honor 6X smartphone. Did it live up to expectations?
While planning a summer vacation, the question arose about purchasing a smartphone with a decent camera, but at a low price. I wanted to return from my trip with high-quality photographs and videos, but I had no desire to carry a huge camera on my trip. My then Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 could boast of good pictures only in ideal lighting conditions, and in any circumstances it took simply disgusting videos. I would like to warn you right away that this publication does not pretend to be a “review” - this is just a quick summary of the impressions of an ordinary user who is too lazy to understand the intricacies and do testing, since the device was bought for a specific purpose, it is not extremely loaded in the operational scheme, and even understanding The budget nature of the product, along with the lack of high expectations, is present.
I have outlined the framework, now let's get started.
After a quick study of the offers on the market, I chose the hero of the review - the camera was praised, and other characteristics seemed interesting.
Specifications
OS version: Android 6.0. Case material: metal. Number of SIM cards: 2 (nanoSIM). SIM card operating mode: alternating Weight: 162 g. Dimensions (WxHxT): 76.2×150.9×8.2 mm. Not everything went smoothly with the purchase. After I paid for the purchase, a store representative contacted me and said that they only had devices with a Chinese plug included, and that the European plug would have to wait indefinitely. Since I had a lot of chargers accumulated, and the adapter was not a problem, I immediately ordered it to be sent as is, and the store completed the task assigned to it quite quickly.
Anticipating questions about why I didn’t purchase Huawei Honor 6X in an offline store, I inform you that at the time of purchase, such a smart phone cost about 15 thousand rubles in Russia, and Girbest offered it for only 11 thousand.
1. SUPERFICIAL ABOUT MISCELLANEOUS
1.1. Box and kit
The hero of the review arrived in a small blue box typical of the manufacturer.
In addition to the device itself, there were papers, a charger, a microUSB cord and a paper clip for opening the tray. The phone is budget - the equipment is not rich.
1.2.
Appearance The Honor 6X looks very decent, despite the fact that I decided to experiment and this time I took the smartphone not in the usual gray or black colors, but in “rich gold”. The body is made of metal and plastic, I think it’s unnecessary to talk about the excellent quality of workmanship - nothing plays, does not rattle and has no unnecessary gaps.
On the front we see a 2.5D screen, a camera eye, a speaker hole, a sensor window, an LED event indicator and a line logo. Immediately from the factory, a protective lash was glued to the screen. It is protective, not transport. There is no dirt or air bubbles underneath - everything is clear.
On the back there is a dual camera, flash, fingerprint sensor, again the line logo and information about class=”aligncenter” width=”800″ height=”531″[/img] On top is a microphone and a headphone jack.
At the bottom there is a conversational microphone, a speaker and a microUSB socket.
On the right is the volume rocker and the on/off button.
On the left is a tray for SIM cards and memory expansion.
The device fits into your hand as usual. After a Xiaomi of the same size, I didn’t get any new sensations.
1.3. Filling
Honor 6X is built on the basis of Huawei's own processor, which is called HiSilicon Kirin 655 and has 8 cores. There is no need to be afraid of such an unusual chip - its operation feels absolutely no different from other already familiar central components.
In addition, the processor is distinguished by its low power consumption, so in theory the built-in 3340 mAh battery should last for a long time, but in fact I did not notice any extreme survivability. Yes, the smartphone lasts longer than my old one from Xiaomi, but it is already many years old and the battery has undoubtedly degraded. In general, Honor 6X is capable of working on a single charge for about two days during normal use: constant WiFi, reading the Internet, WhatsApp, watching videos, playing a little games, taking photographs, a little music and a moderate amount of talking. It suits me; I don’t feel tied to an outlet.
Built-in memory 32GB. It's always not enough, no matter how you look at it. Even 64GB will not be enough with a skillful approach to downloading games and taking photographs/videos of everything, but I’m not such a master, so everything turned out to be enough for me even taking into account the fact that I installed 2 SIM cards in the device and thus lost the ability to expand the storage via using a memory card.
The RAM here is 3GB and that's very good. On my previous smartphone, I only missed it on Instagram, which periodically lags - here everything has changed for the better. Now there are no problems with any application.
1.4. Screen
Here you also need to take into account the excellent IPS screen of the smartphone with a resolution of 1080x1920, i.e. FullHD. The colors are rich, the viewing angles are wide, it itself is bright and even under the direct rays of the southern sun it was quite readable. Automatic brightness adjustment works correctly.
It is possible to set the color temperature. In addition, the device automatically makes the display warmer (adds yellowness) after 10 pm, and returns to normal display after 9 am. This function can be disabled.
1.5 Sensors
Of all the sensors, I consider only one important - the fingerprint sensor, which works great. Recognizes instantly, does not make mistakes. Of everything I tested from Meizu and Xiaomi, not a single smartphone could boast such a fingerprint unlocking speed. In my personal experience, Honor 6X is the leader in this parameter.
Light sensors, proximity sensors, gyroscope, compass, etc. They also cope with their functions very well.
1.6. Geo-positioning
Working with satellites does not cause any complaints. The smartphone sees satellites of three systems: GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou. He finds them very quickly and shows their position accurately. During the trip I used this device feature many times and it never failed me. Using geo-positioning in conjunction with Google Maps is a real pleasure.
1.7.
Sound Nothing extraordinary. The speaker is of moderate quality and is capable of producing a volume at such a level that if you turn it up to the maximum, playing the same Asphalt 8 is not comfortable - it hurts your ears. The sound through the headphones is quite good. Honor 6X, of course, is not a HiFi player at all, but for most ordinary users this quality will be more than enough.
1.8. Software component
Huawei has its own shell, called EMUI, version 4.1, installed on top of Android 6 revision. After prolonged communication with Xiaomi phones, it was impossible to use naked Android. Everything is subjectively crooked and inconvenient. Here the transition went smoothly, the shell is beautiful and functional. The only thing that didn’t quite suit me was the lack of hardware buttons; the on-screen buttons, out of habit, were not always convenient, but later I got used to them. I understand that soft buttons are not a shell feature, but rather an implementation feature, but I decided to mention it here.
The smartphone came with global firmware, presumably this is installed on devices for any market. There are no light blue flirtations with local sales and firmware tailored to sales regions that Meizu and Xiaomi love so much. Moreover, the Russian language works absolutely everywhere. For example, voice typing on Honor 6X functions correctly, but on Xiaomi with global firmware I only understood English and tried to recognize and record any Russian words as foreign.
I liked the energy-saving mode that the smartphone offers to turn on when the battery level drops below 10%. In general, you can turn it on and off at any time yourself. All unnecessary applications and functions are reset - only voice communication, SMS messages and the screen in monochrome mode remain in operation. In my experience, Honor 6X worked in energy-saving state for more than 6 hours on 9% charge. Perhaps it would have lasted much longer, but I had already reached the outlet and put it on power.
1.9. Connection
I give the voice communication the highest rating; there is absolutely nothing to complain about. And I hear the interlocutor perfectly, and the interlocutor does not ask anything again. The device finds the network even in such conditions when Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 gave up.
PHOTO AND VIDEO
Now let’s talk about why the smartphone was purchased.
The main photographic node consists of two cameras - the main one is 12 million pixels. Sony IMX386 and an additional 2 million pixels. The presence of a second camera allows you to select the focus point on finished photographs. I’ll say right away that this functionality is crooked and I personally didn’t like it. Sometimes the photos turn out interesting, but more often than not the subject in focus comes out roughly cut out from the background.
I won't say that I'm delighted. There is certainly an increase in photo quality compared to my previous smart, and quite good. But you need to take into account that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 also has a very decent camera and the quality of photos on that device did not raise any special questions. If we talk about the quality of the video shot by the hero of the review, then it is much better and I really liked it. I think that the level is simply excellent for a smartphone.
Below are examples of photos.

Now the same mode for selecting the focus object on the finished photo, pay attention to the grass that is visible between the leaves:
To be fair, I note that sometimes in this mode everything turns out very beautifully, but “sometimes” is not something you should cheerfully tell potential buyers about. Interestingly, not a single reviewer on specialized sites complained about such a problem. It is possible that only my copy of Honor 6X is somehow faulty, but I highly doubt it.
See video examples in my “video review” of Honor 6X:
In general, the smartphone is very good for the money and I liked it. I am completely and completely satisfied with the purchase. A clear increase in all respects compared to my previous budget device, and I’m not chasing flagships - I don’t see the point. I hope it will serve me for a long time.
Would I buy it again? Yes.
The smartphone periodically disappears from sale, and if you don’t find it using the link from the review, you will have to study this section, since new batches are displayed on other pages. I don’t know what this is connected with, but this was already the case when I chose and bought it myself.
Happy shopping and fast delivery everyone!
Huawei modem firmware
As with mobile phone operating systems, USB modem firmware can be updated to improve the device's performance. Some internet modems have connection and signal strength issues, and updating their firmware is often the solution.
Firmware update is almost the same as flashing a phone, during which the current firmware is replaced with a new one or an old one if you need to roll back the state of the device.
In order to flash a Huawei MTS modem, follow the procedure:
- Download the firmware to your computer from the specialized website. Once the download is complete, you will need to unzip the file to extract the exe application inside.
- Generate the unlock code and firmware for the modem using the Universal Mastercode software and copy them on a piece of paper.
- Make sure the laptop or desktop UPS is fully charged and has a backup power line. If the power goes out during flashing, the modem will become useless.
- Remove the SIM card from the Huawei USB modem, connect it to the computer and run the firmware update that you downloaded and extracted from the zip file.
- Accept the terms of the agreement.
- The firmware update begins.
- Wait a minute while the update scans the USB ports looking for the modem.
- Once the Huawei modem is detected, the program will display the current firmware version and the new update.
- Press the “Start” button and the device firmware update will be completed.
