Design
You can immediately see from it: it’s a gamer’s one. In general, the style of the previous two generations has been preserved, so it won’t be difficult to understand that this is Red Magic.
On the front, the smartphone has a 6.65-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and an aspect ratio of 19.5:5. It operates at a frequency of 90 Hz, while the sensor layer has a higher frequency of 240 Hz.
There's nothing special at the front, other than the large stereo speaker cutouts located at the top and bottom. But from the back, gaming is manifested in all its glory; they didn’t even do without RGB backlighting. It's right in the center of the back panel:
Yes, there is only one main camera. In 2020, this is strange, but still, that’s not what the phone is about. I won’t say whether this smartphone is beautiful or not, because everyone has their own tastes, and they don’t argue about them.
Each button, including the fingerprint scanner on the back cover, can be assigned some action in games.
Nubia has released an unusual smartphone with a cooler for cooling the processor
You can play games on any smartphone. But over the past year or two, we've seen a growing number of smartphones aimed specifically at gamers. Not only do these smartphones usually have fast processors and plenty of RAM, but some of them have additional features such as 120Hz displays, liquid cooling, RGB lighting effects, and support for game controllers and other accessories.
But the Nubia Red Magic 3 is the first smartphone we know of that supports active cooling - the smartphone has a small cooler that will help prevent the device from overheating while gaming.
The smartphone also has a liquid cooling system, so the fan won't run all the time - only when you need it. However, it's a little strange that at a time when there seems to be a rise in fanless laptops and desktops, Nubia is adding a cooler to a category of devices that have been released without active cooling to begin with.
In any case, the smartphone's "turbo fan" is just one of the features that makes the Red Magic 3 stand out from most smartphones.
The smartphone features a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a 90Hz refresh rate.
The device has two shoulder buttons that can be used to trigger actions in games without touching the display, and you can also use the fingerprint scanner on the back of the smartphone as a third button.
There is also an RGB light strip on the back of the smartphone, and there are pins on one side of the smartphone that can be used to connect an additional dock or other accessories.
In terms of more traditional specs, the smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, and a 5,000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging.
There are front-facing stereo speakers with support for 3D and DTS:X audio, as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack. There is a 48-megapixel camera on the back of the smartphone, and a 16-megapixel camera on the front.
Nubia plans to offer the smartphone globally, so it should be available in Europe, the US, Canada and the UK in May. But it will launch first in China, where it will go on sale on May 3 for around $430 and up (for the 6GB/64GB model).
Iron
Of course, the hardware here is top-notch: Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, up to 12 gigs of RAM, a battery with a nominal capacity of 5000 mAh... And also a combination of passive and active cooling.
Yes, they managed to squeeze a cooler into the relatively small body of the smartphone. It is practically weightless - it weighs only 1 gram - but is capable of spinning at speeds of up to 14,000 rpm. At the same time, it is completely silent.
The rotating fan seems to cool the copper heat pipe. All this miracle helps to cool the processor by a significant 16 degrees.
The service life of this fan is 30 thousand hours. At the same time, it does not “eat up much charge”, consuming 1% per hour of operation.
Coupled with cooling and 12 GB of RAM, this smartphone set a record in AnTuTu, scoring 437 thousand points. The next Xiaomi Mi 9 Transparent Edition with a transparent cover produces only 372 thousand “parrots”. It looks impressive, but why?
As I said above, the battery here is 5000 mAh, supports Quick Charge 4.0, and comes with a 27 W unit. Not bad.
I'm glad that they retained the 3.5 mm headphone jack. Still, instant feedback is important in games, and Bluetooth has a delay. Nothing is known yet about support for aptX and other similar codecs.
But it seems they decided not to use NFC. It’s strange, because right away at the presentation they said that Red Magic 3 would be sold outside of China.
Nubia reports that there are four vibration motors responsible for feedback during the game. It will vibrate the same way as the DualShock, apparently.
Advantages of the liquid cooling system on POCO F1
POCO F1 features advanced liquid cooling technology that reduces heat levels 300% faster than competing flagships, allowing you to play demanding games longer without worrying about overheating and slowing down your device.
With liquid cooling technology, POCO F1 is able to maintain peak performance for a longer period. Compared to the latest flagship One Plus, POCO F1 scored higher in AnTuTu and maintains this score for longer.
We hope you have received enough information about liquid cooling technology.
Camera
There's not much to say here. The main module contains the popular 48 MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.7 lens aperture. We know it from Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, Redmi Note 7 Pro, Honor View 20 and a significant number of other smartphones.
But the camera has two features. First: recording slow-motion video at 1920 frames per second. This is a record for smartphones. But it’s not very clear whether these are real frames or added by artificial intelligence, as in Xiaomi Mi 9.
Second: the ability to record video in 8K. But even here, without details: how many frames, what is the bitrate, is this real 8K? There are still more questions than answers here, especially considering that Qualcomm does not announce support for such a resolution with the 855th Snap.
At the front there is a 16 megapixel module with an f/2.0 lens aperture. Nothing more is known about him.
Prices
The smartphone will be available in China from May 3. The 6/64 GB version will be sold for 2899 yuan ($430 or 28,000 rubles). A model with 128 GB of storage will cost Chinese buyers 3,199 yuan ($475 or 31,000 rubles). Both versions will be available only in black:
The 8/128 GB version at the start of sales will only be available in corporate red and basic black. They will ask for 3,499 yuan ($520 or 33,700 rubles).
But the top version with 12/256 GB will not go on sale yet. But it is known that such smartphones will be sold in two colors at once:
This model will cost 4,299 yuan ($640 or 41,500 rubles). It is not yet known when it will go on sale.
It is also not yet known when the smartphone will be available outside of China. But it will definitely be sold in the USA, Canada, UK and EU countries.
Huawei unveils a giant liquid-cooled smartphone
Ahead of Apple's expected release of a larger version of the iPhone X in September, the struggle between Chinese manufacturers for the wallets of fans of the giant smartphones for games and video is intensifying. Following Xiaomi, which showed Mi Max 3 on July 19, Huawei announced a device with the same large screen – almost 7 inches diagonally. The new product is called Honor Note 10.
Unlike the more affordable Mi Max 3, built on the Snapdragon 636, the Honor device uses the most powerful (at least until the imminent announcement of Kirin 980) Huawei-developed chip - Kirin 970, installed in the flagship Huawei P20 and Honor 10. In addition, how and many other Chinese smartphones that claim flagship status, the new product lacks a 3.5 mm audio jack.
The main feature of Honor Note 10 is its size: the diagonal of the display without a notch is 6.95 inches, resolution is 2220 by 1080 pixels. In this case, an OLED panel is used that supports image output in the HDR10 standard, that is, with an extended dynamic range.
Inside, the smartphone is not just charged to the maximum - the Kirin 970 chip, working in conjunction with 6 or 8 GB of RAM, can be overclocked by pressing the dedicated button at the bottom of the right edge of the case while playing. At the same time, overclocking of the graphics accelerator is activated, but exactly how much the processor clock speeds are increased is not reported. Simultaneously with overclocking the processor, the device, by pressing the “accelerating” button, unloads everything unnecessary from the RAM, freeing up space for game resources.

To avoid overheating due to operation at high frequencies, Honor Note 10 was equipped with a special cooling system that uses a heat pipe - this is a hollow metal element that removes heat from the chip to the body more efficiently than solid metal due to the continuous evaporation and condensation of the liquid inside it. Huawei says that the cooling system in Honor Note 10 allows you to keep the processor temperature 10 degrees lower compared to conventional solutions.
The smartphone is equipped with 64 or 128 GB of internal memory, and also supports microSD cards (but the slot for them is combined with a slot for a second SIM card). The rear camera is dual: 24 and 16 megapixel modules, lenses with the same f/1.8 aperture. The front camera is 13 megapixel, f/2.2 aperture. The camera software uses artificial intelligence algorithms to generate better images.
Honor Note 10, writes GSMArena, is equipped with a capacious 5000 mAh battery (this, however, is 500 mAh less than the Xiaomi Mi Max 3) and supports Huawei Super Charge high-speed charging. The smartphone runs on Android 8.1 with the EMUI 8.2 interface shell and will be sold in two colors: “midnight black” and “ghost blue”.
