iOS 12

The expected iPhone 12 will be an undoubted hit, because this device will be considered the first in a three-year cycle of updating the appearance of Apple smartphone models. This is what drives interest in the future flagship, which will appear in September 2020. It should be noticeably different from its predecessor, laying the foundation for a new design for an iconic product.

It turns out that quite a lot is already known about what this smartphone will be like. You can confidently think about a new design, the appearance of another camera, an updated display, a number of models and many other innovations. In the meantime, there is still time before the release of the iPhone 12, let's try to put together all the information about Apple's new flagship. Perhaps it’s time to start saving money for it, and you’ll also learn how much from this article.

Data protection

The developers have supplemented the Safari browser with a number of new tools, the purpose of which is to ensure the security of personal information from unauthorized collection. Apple's mobile system also received a password control function, which learned to create and remember code combinations entered by the user on various sites, insert them the next time the page is visited, and also warn about using the same password in different applications.

The Siri assistant can now search for the required password, but will not advertise it until it identifies the real owner of the device. The keyboard will help you enter a one-time code received via SMS.

How many new iPhones will there be in 2020?

It seems that Apple will change itself and in 2020 will introduce five new smartphones at once (including the iPhone SE 2). This is exactly what the famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo thinks.

Regarding Apple devices, he has already made several dozen correct predictions. Previously, the analyst correctly predicted the spring release of the iPhone SE 2, and now, according to him, the company will introduce four more models in the fall:

  • 5.4-inch iPhone 12 with OLED screen and 5G support;
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Plus with OLED screen and 5G support;
  • 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro with OLED screen, 5G support and 3D camera;
  • 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max with OLED screen, 5G support and 3D camera.

What will the new iPhone be called in 2020?

After the iPhone 5, as expected, the iPhone 5s appeared, then the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. There were no surprises planned - complete predetermination. But with the release of the iPhone X, the company changed its traditional approach to product naming. The names began to turn out to be very cumbersome, for example, the company’s latest smartphone was named iPhone 11 Pro Max. In 2020, no one would believe this!

But Apple, it seems, is not going to change anything. There is no evidence yet that the approach to naming will change. One can only try to guess the name of the 2020 model based on the name of previous devices. Taking into account the analogies of 2020, we can expect the release of models called iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. The names, although cumbersome, are already familiar.

According to analysts, the initial and cheapest iPhone 12 model will have a 5.4-inch screen. It should be noted here that for the first time Apple will release a smartphone with a smaller screen (iPhone 11 Pro has a 5.8-inch screen). Previously, the diagonal of smartphones was always increasing. The second version of the “budget” iPhone 12 Plus will receive a 6.1-inch display.

In turn, the iPhone 12 Pro will have a 5.4-inch display, and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will have a 6.7-inch display.

The iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are available in silver, gold, gray and green, while the iPhone 11 is available in white, black, green, yellow, purple and red. There is a lot of choice, can Apple surprise you with something else?

A new dark blue color is expected. It may replace Midnight Green, which received mixed reviews. Here's what the new color option might look like:

iPhone 12 design

Design of iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max

There is little doubt that Apple will significantly change the appearance of the new smartphones in 2020. The previous iteration has been going on for 3 years and has clearly exhausted itself.

The main changes will affect the shape of the body. The connecting frame will no longer be round, but will have right angles. This design solution, according to Ming-Chi Kuo, will make the new smartphones similar to the already legendary iPhone 4. The rectangular side edges of the iPhone 12 will resemble the edges of the latest generation iPad Pro tablets. It is worth noting that after the appearance of the iPad Pro in 2020 with a new design, many assumed that similar edges would appear in the iPhone. This information is confirmed by other sources.

Design of iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Plus

New materials will also be used to create the body. The 2020 iPhones will have a metal frame with a more sophisticated design. To do this, you will need to use new casting technology. The frame will combine solid protected glass covering the front and back surfaces of the case.

Analysts suggest that the use of unique production technologies will make the product even more expensive. Ming-Chi Kuo emphasizes that iPhone 4-style rectangular frames and new materials will “significantly” change the product's appearance. This statement seems quite loud, which is very rare for an insider. It's clear that the iPhone redesign will be really powerful.

In addition, the leaked alleged CAD drawings of the 2020 flagship confirm the reduction of bezels around the perimeter of the screen compared to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro. It is also known that the so-called “bangs” with a system of cameras and TrueDepth sensors will be reduced by about half.

Of course, the concept is not based on real drawings or an approved model, but only leaks. Significant changes will also affect the appearance of the entire body. Thanks to changes in design, iPhone 12 will be able to achieve incredible popularity among users.

Camera

Little is known about her yet. Let's move on to the main rumors.

Both firmwares will receive LiDAR similar to that found in the iPad Pro (2020). It will be needed for augmented reality:

Halide developers figured out how the camera of the new iPad Pro works

Ilya Kichaev

16 April 2020

Also, both models will receive matrix stabilization of the main wide-angle camera, like large cameras and the recently released vivo X50 Pro.

And in the small iPhone 12 mini and the successor to the iPhone 11 (conditional iPhone 12 Max), apparently, there will be only two cameras - wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle.

Yesterday it became known that the cameras will receive new autofocus. Its mechanism will abandon the use of springs and switch to balls. Ming-Chi Kuo reported this exclusively to 9to5Mac.

iPhone 12 display

All new next-generation smartphones will have an OLED display. Apple will finally abandon LCD screens. This information from leading analysts was also confirmed by potential suppliers. Apple has already agreed with LG and BOE on the supply of OLED screens for its future smartphones. New suppliers were needed because the previous one, Samsung, is not able to satisfy Apple’s needs for this type of screen alone.

As we said above, the new models will receive screens with diagonals of 5.4-, 6.1- and 6.7 inches. So far, nothing is known about the characteristics of the displays: resolution and pixel density, brightness, dynamic range.

But now an interesting fact is associated with one of the future models. For the first time in Apple history, a new smartphone with a reduced screen diagonal will appear! We are talking about the 5.4-inch iPhone 12. Such a step will be proof that Apple is taking into account the wishes of its users. Many people have been asking for a compact smartphone for a long time, and yet the size of the diagonals is only growing from year to year. And in 2020 it will apparently reach a record 6.7 inches. Against this background, the 5.4-inch iPhone will look really compact. And in reality it will turn out to be really small.

One of the publications even calculated the likely size of the iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch screen. This smartphone may have dimensions of 134 mm × 66.4 mm. You can compare this to the dimensions of the 4-inch iPhone SE with its 123.8 x 58.6 mm and see that there is little difference. You don't have to look at the screen. The compact case will house a fairly large 5.4-inch screen with minimal bezels. The screen of such a smartphone will be quite enough to consume any kind of content.

Ice Universe insider shared interesting information. According to his sources, the displays of the new iPhone 12 will operate with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. At the same time, users will also have the opportunity to independently choose the option they need. For normal use, you can set it to 60 Hz and save your battery, but for games you can set it to 120 Hz.

iOS 12 - what's new?

Of all the innovations, it is worth highlighting the most useful and significant for the new OS.

Battery details

iOS 12 will allow you to view device battery usage statistics for the past day or 10 days. This allows users to use interactive graphs in the battery settings to track the most energy-consuming applications on iPhone and iPad, including those running in the background.

Automatic code substitution

The new version of iOS will be able to automatically substitute codes from SMS to fill in the appropriate fields, without the need to remember or manually record. A convenient function for automatically entering codes when interacting with a mobile operator, bank and other services.

Advanced Notifications

iOS 12 notifications have been redesigned. Now it will be possible to add buttons to them for interactive interaction. Thus, the functionality of notifications will be expanded and will allow you to perform more actions with the application. One example is the ability to delete or archive emails without opening your email client.

Move through text without 3D Touch

For iPhone 5s, SE, 6/6 Plus, the ability to quickly and conveniently move through text by holding down the keyboard by default has been added. In iOS 11 and below, this option was only available to iPhone users with 3D Touch.

iPhone 12 processor and RAM

The platform based on the Apple A14 processor is designed to provide record performance for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. There is no information about this new chip yet.

It is obvious that the iPhone 12 will receive an increased amount of RAM. All 2020 models have 4 GB of RAM, but the iPhone XS / XS Max had the same amount. Most likely, 2020 models will receive 6 GB of RAM; for flagship models this is almost inevitable. And the amount of built-in memory should also increase. Once again, we can recall the preservation of the capacity of the iPhone 11 Pro relative to its predecessor, the iPhone XS.

Apple simply cannot help but follow trends and fall behind its competitors. It is expected that the internal memory of the younger model will be 128 GB. The average model will receive 512 GB, and the top one – 1 TB, like the current Samsung flagships. But so far this information does not even come from insiders, but simply speculation. It’s not a fact that Apple will consider it wise to participate in the gigabyte race - it’s not for nothing that the company is developing and actively implementing cloud technologies.

Specifications

iPhone 12 will be powered by the new generation A14 processor. Recent information says that Apple partner TSMC is set to begin production on the 5 nm process in the second quarter of the year. The current A13 chip is produced on a 7 nm process technology, the new one should be faster and more energy efficient.

UPDATE! At WWDC 2020, Apple will announce the transition to ARM processors of its own design. Time will tell whether the processor in the iPhone 12 will be changed.

What speed can you expect? The first estimates say that, together with 6 GB of memory, the computing power will be at the level of a 15-inch MacBook Pro. Gaming performance will increase by 50% thanks to multi-threaded load optimization. All this is possible thanks to the transition to the 5 nm process technology.

Perhaps the amount of RAM will be 4 GB, although many competitors already have 6 GB or more. As for the volume of built-in storage, versions of 64/256/512 GB are expected. You shouldn't count on a terabyte yet.

UPDATE. iPhones with 6.7-inch and 6.1-inch screens (one model) will each receive 6 GB of RAM, iPhones with 6.1-inch and 5.4-inch screens will receive only 4 GB of memory.

Face ID will also be improved. Barclays analysts say the system will be updated. What exactly this means is unclear, but Apple could update the TrueDepth camera to work with Face ID.

The LiDAR scanner, which first appeared on the 2020 iPad Pro, will only be available on the 6.7-inch version of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.

This system was updated in the iPhone 11, but due to the transition to iOS 13 rather than hardware updates. This time the physical components may be updated.

Battery capacity is expected to increase. Developers are now working on a special battery protection module that is 50% thinner and lighter than the same component in previous versions of the iPhone. This may free up space in the device for a larger battery.

The battery itself will be L-shaped. For iPhone 12, the capacity will be 2227 mAh, for iPhone 12 Max and 12 Pro - 2775 mAh, for iPhone 12 Pro Max - 3687 mAh.

In terms of internal storage, the iPhone 12 lineup will start with 64GB or 128GB of storage.

Will there be Touch ID? At least one version (most likely the younger one) of the iPhone 12 will have this technology; in other versions, Apple has decided to abandon Touch ID. These may be older versions of the iPhone 12 released in 2021.

iPhone 12 cameras

Most likely, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will receive a four-camera system:

  • Wide-angle 12-megapixel;
  • 12-megapixel telephoto camera;
  • 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle;
  • 3D LiDAR cameras.

Noteworthy is the new 3D LiDAR camera, which first appeared in the 2020 iPad Pro. Perhaps it will become the main technological innovation of the iPhone 12 Pro. The word LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) literally stands for “detection and ranging using light.” The main feature of such a camera is the ability to determine the distance to objects with the highest accuracy through the use of a low-power infrared laser, not even a laser, but its entire grid. The camera sensor will be able to measure the flight time of the beam, which gives the technology its name. A LiDAR camera is also called a time-of-flight camera. In fact, the smartphone will receive an additional image in which each pixel is responsible for depth, and not for color.

The presence of a 3D camera will open up a whole range of new possibilities for smartphones. First of all, they will noticeably improve the quality of their photographs, especially those taken in portrait mode. Improved camera depth perception will allow you to clearly separate your subject from the background when creating a depth-of-field photo.

Thanks to the LiDAR camera, the iPhone 12 Pro will have new capabilities for working with augmented reality. Users will be able to scan real objects and living beings, and then transfer them to augmented reality applications. Rumor has it that Apple will combine these features with the release of its new “smart” glasses, which may appear in 2022.

♥ BY TOPIC: How to enable and use the ultra-wide-angle camera on iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro.

AR - Augmented Reality

Let me remind you what AR and ARKit are.

  • AR – augmented reality technology.
  • ARKit is a set of tools for developers to implement AR features into their applications. In iOS 12, ARKit was upgraded to ARKit 2.

The minimum requirements for AR are iPhone SE, 6S, iPad Pro and iPad 2017. These and newer devices can support AR applications.

AR functions have expanded. From now on, several people can participate in one virtual reality. That is, users can look at 1 object from different points of view.

AR objects can be sent via messages and mail and then viewed in the real world.

You can also add mirror surfaces to AR.

ARKit can recognize 3D objects and can launch an application corresponding to the object on the device.

The new USZD file format allows developers to create AR objects that are more optimized for mobile devices.

iPhone 12 battery

Apple traditionally does not disclose the battery capacity of its devices, focusing only on battery life. One can only guess what batteries will be in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro. Users are hoping for an increase in battery capacity, as happened with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max and allowed them to increase battery life by 4 and 5 hours, respectively. But such a leap in autonomy is no longer worth waiting for. The fact is that the new iPhones will most likely be able to work in fifth-generation networks. This will clearly not have a positive effect on the operating time of the iPhone 12 without recharging.

Update July 30

I have collected the most reliable rumors over the past week about the release of new Apple products this fall.

This rumor appeared due to a leak in the iOS 14 beta code, where it was discovered that a small iPhone 12 with a 5.4-inch screen (according to the 9to5mac portal). The display resolution will be 960×2079 pixels, i.e. 425 pixels per inch. This is higher than Apple's usual resolution of 326 pixels per inch.

According to rumors, LCD screens will be used across the entire iPhone 12 line, and the Pro version will receive an OLED display. The bangs on the new iPhone will remain, but will be smaller than in previous versions.

Due to the fact that the speaker and microphone are in the upper part of the frame, and here we will have various sensors and scanners.

The start date of sales and the presentation date of new Apple products have been leaked In the fall, Cupertino residents will hold two presentations at once:

  1. Apple presentation on September 8 : announcement of the iPhone 12, 12 Max, 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max, Apple Watch Series 6, AirTags and the eighth generation iPad.

Pre-orders for the new Apple Watch and iPad start on September 11 and sales start on September 18. Pre-order iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max from October 2, sales start from October 9. iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max - pre-order from October 16, sales start from October 23.

  1. Presentation September 27 : announcements of MacBook and MacBook 13 Pro on Apple Silicon processors; updated iPad Pro with a mini-LED display that consumes little energy; AirPower wireless charging with three charging coils, Apple TV 6.

AirPower announcement September 27
Without announcement on the Apple website in August 2020. iMac will appear on new chips from Intel in the old design. AirPods Studio and HomePod Mini will also appear.

Attention, you should not believe these rumors 100%, but some of them come from well-known insiders, whose rumors have come true more than once.

iPhone 12 connectivity

The new iPhone 12 will be the first Apple smartphones to support the 5G standard. It is no coincidence that for the sake of this event, the company even ended a long-term legal battle with the manufacturer of 5G modems Qualcomm. For the sake of joint cooperation, a legal war that lasted several years was stopped. The companies have already agreed to supply 5G modems for future iPhones. This is confirmed by documents confirming the termination of the litigation. So we can safely say that the iPhone 12 will support 5G networks.

In addition, in the summer of 2020, Apple bought Intel's modem division. It is obvious that Cupertino is looking into the future and does not want to depend on external suppliers to support 5G networks. But our own modem will not be ready until 2022. Apple does not want to stay away from the revolutionary solution, especially since some Android models received support for 5G networks back in 2020.

Unfortunately, domestic operators have not yet launched a single commercial public fifth-generation network. The introduction of 5G networks in Russia is planned for 2021.

♥ ON TOPIC: Which iPhone has better battery life? Comparison of battery life of all current iPhones in 2020.

Design

The main difference between the new models and the three previous generations of smartphones should be the “sharp” edges. The new iPhone may receive a design in the style of the iPad Pro or become similar to the classic iPhone 4/4s. This is hinted at by the supposed drawings of the model.

There are other leaks that confirm this change in appearance: the layout and the body.

There are rumors that the Pro models will get a dark blue body color as a third color option.

Touch ID sensor built into the screen

At the beginning of 2020, people began to talk about Apple’s intention to place a fingerprint scanner on the screens of its smartphones. The company plans to use it not to replace Touch ID technology, but to complement it, giving users an alternative.

But the scanner never appeared in the iPhone 11, but the first information has already appeared about Apple’s discussion with touch screen manufacturers about the possibility of installing an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner from Qualcomm. As a result of Apple's collaboration with the GIS screen manufacturer, the fingerprint should appear in at least one iPhone 12 model. Qualcomm already supplies such sensors for Samsung smartphones, but a more advanced version of the technology may appear in the iPhone. However, the final implementation of the ultrasonic sensor may be postponed to 2021. It is no coincidence that Apple plans to switch to OLED displays, because they are the only ones that work with sensors of this kind. The presentation in December 2020 of a touch sensor from Qualcomm measuring 30 by 20 mm, which is 17 times larger than that used in Samsung flagships, gives hope for the implementation of full-screen fingerprint capabilities in the iPhone.

Siri - learning ability

The built-in Siri assistant can perform single actions, but until recently it was not able to do something like “open an application and play a music track.” The release of iOS 12 should correct the situation - users are given the opportunity to create personal chains of actions.

It is now possible to create tasks for Siri in the “Short Commands” section that appears. It offers templates for typical actions within a specific application: for example, set the time on the alarm clock, launch your favorite track list, find the desired contact and leave him a message, etc. For each operational action, you can set a voice task binding - when Siri is active, the device will execute the given command.

Lightning or USB-C?

According to data provided by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will abandon the Lightning connector in iPhones only in 2021. In other words, the iPhone 12 will still be equipped with the usual Lightning connector.

According to insider Fudge (@choco_bit), instead of the Lightning connector, the iPhone 13 in 2013 will receive an interface that combines the existing Qi-type wireless charging and the magnetic Smart Connector used for data transfer and synchronization in the latest iPad models.

♥ ON TOPIC: How to quickly compare “before and after” a processed photo and the original on an iPhone or iPad.

Screen time monitoring

In second place after the declared performance improvement is another important update: the settings of iOS 12 have been supplemented with an analytical tab that collects information about how much time the user spends on his phone. The monitoring is worked out in detail - if you wish, you can find out a summary for the day, week, view the most frequently visited applications, and also get data on how many times per day the iPhone was picked up.

iOS 12, at the user’s request, can set limits on the use of this or that application, while the restrictions are not strictly dictated - they can be abandoned.

iPhone 12 without headphones included?

According to the latest insider reports, Apple may stop providing free headphones with new iPhones. This is a major change considering the company has been making its free wired headphones called EarPods since the first iPhone launched in 2007.

EarPods are also sold separately by Apple, at a price of 2,500 rubles and are available in two versions: a Lightning version and a version with a standard 3.55 mm headphone jack.

Most likely, Apple is planning such a step in the hope of pushing potential iPhone 12 buyers to choose one of the company's AirPods headphone models.

iOS 13 vs iOS 12: Dark Mode and Sign in Apple

Two important new features in iOS 13 are Dark Mode and Sign in with Apple. The first is a system-wide dark color scheme that will work across all apps and is available for third-party developers to integrate with their apps.

Designed to make it easier to use your iPhone in low-light conditions, you can set Dark Mode to turn on for a specific amount of time. There is also a quick switch to the new mode in the Control Center. Of course, you will be able to use Dark Mode all the time.

Signing in with Apple lets you use your Apple ID to sign in to apps and sites with one tap. This is similar to the idea of logging in using social networks VKontakte, Facebook and Google, but privacy comes first, allowing you to hide your email address, for example. Apple isn't going to track your activity either.

Glowing apple in iPhone 12

Not long ago, Apple patented the glow of its logo using LEDs. It is likely that this solution could appear in the iPhone 12 and be a response to complaints about the lack of notification indicator for calls and messages. The patent even outlines the possibility of customizing the type of glow by using multiple layers of backlight to adjust the color and level of light. Previously, the glowing apple was present in the Macbook, becoming its universally recognized feature. Now it can appear in the iPhone 12, becoming both a decoration and a functional indicator.

♥ ON TOPIC: New gestures in iOS 13 for working with text on iPhone and iPad, which you might not know about.

Notification grouping and improved Do Not Disturb mode

GIF animation is available by clicking. Attention: the file is heavy.

Cupertino decided to introduce grouping of notifications into its mobile operating system only in the twelfth major update - better late than never. Now the lock screen and notification center will no longer be an unsorted pile of jumbled entries from different applications. In iOS 12, you can set up notifications directly from the lock screen - if you receive a lot of messages from the messenger at the most inopportune moment, you can turn off its notifications for an hour.

But if you need to temporarily isolate yourself from all annoying sounds at once, it is better to use the improved Do Not Disturb mode. It can be turned on either forever (until manually turned off) or until a certain point: after an hour, before leaving a specific location, until the end of a certain event.

High-speed wireless charging in iPhone 12

Wireless charging appeared in the iPhone 8, but since then the company has clearly lost momentum in this direction, losing leadership to competitors. You can at least recall the story of the announced, but never released, AirPower station. It is expected that the iPhone 12 will implement a new generation of Qi, with increased power, and support for reverse charging. This will allow smartphones to recharge not only their fellows, but also AirPods with Apple Watch.

iOS 13 vs iOS 12: Reminders, Messages and Notes

Apple has also redesigned the Reminders app for iOS 13, giving it an all-new interface, attachment support, and Smart Lists that automatically sort, organize, and highlight your reminders, giving you the ability to view only those that are relevant today, flagged, or scheduled. .

Messages have also received improvements. With iOS 12, Apple lets you further personalize your Animoji and Memoji (cartoon of your own face).

Now, with the iOS 13 update, Apple is including three more Animoji (octopus, mouse, and cow), along with a host of additional Memoji settings. Your phone now also automatically generates sticker packs based on your Animoji and Memoji.

As for the Messages app itself, you can now share a contact's name and photo—but you can choose which contacts see that information. The search tool in messages is also getting better. It will automatically display your latest posts, images, and the like, giving you suggestions before you even start filling out the search bar.

Price of iPhone 12 and iPhone Pro in Russia

The price of the new iPhone interests Apple fans almost more than the capabilities of smartphones. It is highly likely that the iPhone 12 will cost slightly more than previous models. There are several logical explanations for this. iPhone 12 is the first model of a new series of Apple smartphones. It will stand out with its design, and the use of new technologies will clearly affect the cost. And iPhone prices remained unchanged in 2020, which surprised experts a lot. It is likely that the marketing strategy involves increasing prices for 2020, when there will clearly be a surge in interest in the next generation iPhone. Based on this, we can assume that the prices of new models will increase by at least $50.

And here are the estimated prices of the iPhone 12 in Russia, based on previous experience, forecasts and leaks:

  • iPhone 12 - from 63,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Plus - from 73,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Pro - from 93,990 rubles.
  • iPhone 12 Pro Max - from 103,990 rubles.

Updated information on iPhone 12 prices will appear only closer to September 2020.

Photo and video

There is no shortage of people willing to portray future Apple smartphones. Below you can see what the iPhone 12 looks like in photos and videos.

German design studio Hasan Kaymak created a video describing the iPhone 12 Pro Max, showing the possible appearance of the four rear cameras and sensors.

There is no screen cutout or Torx screws as the display is glued to the frame. Added 45W charging adapter and fast wireless charging.

Graphic designer Milos Toman presented his photo of the iPhone 12, where the three rear cameras are arranged vertically.

Photo with three cameras.

This image was presented back in March 2020, since then many similar Android smartphones have appeared. For example, OnePlus 7T Pro and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 with five cameras. The dual cameras of the iPhone XS and iPhone 11 are also located vertically. Many people think that this is more beautiful than square modules.

Toman also created a video describing this design:

UPDATE. And here are the new mockups of four iPhone 12 models, leaked online immediately after the WWDC 2020 conference. These mockups are not entirely accurate, since the photo does not show the 3D LiDAR sensor, which will definitely be present in the iPhone.
