Digital services have become an integral part of our lives, becoming a convenient and useful option that many people readily use. Every day, thousands of customers activate one or another new function on the website or mobile application of Russian Post . Even if you are used to going to a branch, know that the world is changing and our mail is changing along with it. Now many things can be done without leaving home.

Mobile app

In Russia, every third person buys or orders a service via a smartphone. Using the Russian Post mobile application, customers can track an unlimited number of items, and they can be added by simply scanning a barcode. You can receive push notifications about status changes (if the parcel has changed location, the client will immediately know about it), arrange for the parcel to be delivered to your home by courier or postman. The mobile application allows you to receive shipments without a passport and fill out papers using a code from a push notification or SMS, find the nearest post office, find out its work schedule, evaluate the work of the branches, the quality of delivery, report problems, etc. All Russian Post services are available through the mobile application.

Courier services

On the website https://www.pochta.ru/courier or in the Russian Post mobile application there is an option to send or receive parcels by courier delivery. You can call a courier and hand over express mail to him; international small packages are delivered to your home by regular postmen, and couriers deliver express mail or mail to another address. Tariffs for delivery by courier vary depending on the choice of method of receiving the shipment.

Electronic signature

Simple electronic signature is a successful service launched by Russian Post in 2020. You can connect it by registering online at: https://passport.pochta.ru/activate/ops. Thanks to the PEP, the process of issuing parcels and letters has significantly accelerated. Visitors no longer have to fill out paper forms and are no longer required to carry their passport with them every time. Having accessed the service once, clients receive their parcels by presenting an SMS or push notification to the operator in the mobile application.

Registration and payment of parcels online

If you place and pay for a parcel on the website https://www.pochta.ru/support/office-services/payonline-offices or in the mobile application, it will be accepted at the branch without a queue. You can enter your address details right from home and receive a ready-made form with a tracking number, which you need to print out and stick to the parcel. This can be done by the operator himself at the communications department; you just need to show him the track number from the screen of your mobile phone. After processing the shipment by a Russian Post employee, a letter with a notification of acceptance and a check will be sent to the client’s email address left when registering on the site.

Postcard online

This service is designed to send postcards from online to offline. On the website market.pochta.ru, customers can select a postcard, write a greeting, the recipient’s address and pay. After this, Russian Post will issue and deliver a real paper postcard to the specified address.

Electronic registered letter

The free digital service allows you to receive letters from government agencies (for example, traffic police fines) in electronic form after registering on the website zakaznoe.pochta.ru or in the Russian Post mobile application. Reading a letter is equivalent to receiving it at the post office against signature. If someone suddenly becomes uncomfortable receiving notifications on their mobile device, they can cancel this service at any time and return to printed receipts.

Transfers from a bank card with cash withdrawal

Despite the popularity of banking transactions simply from card to card, money transfers through post offices are still in demand, allowing you to send money to any corner of the country. To process a transfer by Russian Post, just go to the transfers page https://www.rs-express.ru/payments/russianpost and fill out the form. When paying a transfer at a Russian Post office, the commission is 2.45%, minimum 60 rubles. When delivering the transfer to the recipient’s home - 4.5%, minimum 90 rubles. If you specify the recipient's phone number, he will receive a notification of the transfer via SMS. To deliver money by the postman, a notice is not required, but if the addressee is not found at home, the courier will put a notice of the arrival of funds in the mailbox.

Payment of utility bills

Russian Post accepts utility and municipal payments, payment for communication services and fines. However, for this you do not need to go to the post office at all, since a special payment service has been launched for this on the Russian Post website: https://finance.pochta.ru/payments/Kommunalnye_uslugi

You can pay remotely using a bank card for services from almost 6,500 housing and communal services companies across the country. The size of the commission can reach 2-2.5% of the payment amount, but it is not charged by the Russian Post itself, but by the acquiring bank. The service page provides a payer’s personal account service, which stores the history of payments made, bank card details and transaction templates.

Subscribe online and in the mobile application

To subscribe to newspapers and magazines, you no longer need to go to the post office. To do this, just go to the website podpiska.pochta.ru or a special section of the Russian Post mobile application. In the extensive catalog presented, you can select a publication and pay for a subscription either for yourself or as a gift to any other recipient in Russia. Payment for the subscription is made by credit card. An electronic receipt and a notification with the order number will be sent to the email address entered during registration. In your personal account, you can track information about all subscriptions: the number of publications, as well as the subscription period, which can be extended by clicking the “Extend subscription” button.

At one time, skeptics predicted that television would kill traditional newspapers and magazines, then they predicted the same sad fate for television after the advent of the Internet. All these predictions did not come true. Of course, now we no longer go to the post office to send a telegram. Technological progress cannot be stopped. And why stop it if it makes our lives more comfortable?

Tracking Russian Post parcels by identification number

The barcode postal identifier (SPI) for domestic Russian Post items consists of 14 digits, where:

  • the first six digits indicate the recipient's post office code,
  • the next two digits indicate the month the barcode identifier was printed,
  • numbers from ninth to thirteenth - unique number of the item,
  • and the last digit is the control digit.

After paying for the forwarding service, the cashier will issue a fiscal receipt, which, in addition to the standard cost and name of the service, will indicate the RPO (registered mail) number, this is the tracking number - the postal identifier of the Russian Post. In the RPO line, the last digit in the check is printed separated by a space, but it must be entered without spaces.

It looks like this on a cash receipt:

RPO tracking is instant - upon acceptance, the post office employee enters information into the database, and the first status “Accepted at the post office” will appear when tracking Russian Post by ID immediately after sending. The postal identifier is an excellent tool for monitoring the movement, delivery times and weight at each stage of the journey of the delivered item.

PC "SBSOFT-OPS" allows you to expand the ability to generate and present OPS reporting data in electronic form.

At the same time, balances and cash register limits are automatically monitored.

The new Russian Post service will allow you to send a parcel using a mobile phone number

If the addressee indicated a phone number in the application and agreed to accept such shipments, the system will automatically determine his address and name, while the sender will see only the delivery city and the recipient’s zip code - the rest of the data will remain unavailable to him.

Otherwise, the sending procedure remains unchanged.

Having filled in all the details of the shipment, you can pay for it online and hand it over without waiting in line at any post office, or call a courier who will pick up the parcel and deliver it to the post office.

The service was tested for some time on mobile devices based on iOS and has now become available to all users of the Russian Post application.

Russian Post is the first Russian logistics operator to offer such a service.

This solution was implemented to save time and increase the convenience of sending parcels: in order not to fill out the address, you can even select the recipient from your contact list. In addition, this method of receiving packages allows users to maintain privacy for users and avoids leaving personal information when shopping online.

“The launch of a new service is an important step that we are taking towards our clients. The service has already become popular among users of the Russian Post mobile application and has made sending parcels as convenient and accessible as possible,” said Alexey Skatin, Deputy General Director for E-Commerce at Russian Post JSC.

“Millions of Russians were able to evaluate the operation of the application, the functionality of which allows you to track the shipment, find the nearest point of delivery of the order on an interactive map, call a courier, register and pay for the parcel, receive legally significant electronic registered letters, communicate in an online chat,” he explained.

The development and simplification of digital services is natural in the context of the constant growth of the e-commerce market.

More and more people solve everyday tasks and make purchases online using smartphones. At the same time, what is important for the consumer is not so much the ability to do this, but how simply the process of purchasing and delivering goods or obtaining a service is implemented.

In recent years, the percentage of Russians purchasing goods using mobile devices has grown from two to 32 percent, and in the global market this figure exceeds 50 percent. The forecast for 2021 suggests that the global market will grow to 73 percent.

Digital services of Russian Post may be especially in demand now, in the context of an aggravated epidemiological situation.

Thanks to the website and mobile application, customers can use the services of the federal postal operator without visiting a post office. The Russian Post mobile application allows you to track all postal items and search for information about a parcel by scanning a barcode, receive parcels without presenting a passport, and arrange home delivery by courier or postman.

The application notifies you about changes in the status of the shipment; it makes it easy to find the nearest post office and find out its operating hours. You can subscribe to newspapers and magazines; in addition, the application integrates an electronic registered letter service to receive legally significant letters from government agencies electronically and send them immediately.

Available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone platforms, the application has already been installed by more than 13 million users.
