Characteristics of Highscreen Power Five Max 2: a long-lived smartphone with powerful hardware

The Highscreen company brought to us for testing its bomb smartphone Highscreen Power Five Max 2 with a 5000 mAh battery and a lot of new technologies on board. A serious competitor for the middle class, originally from China. The version with 3/32 GB of RAM and internal memory will cost you 13,990 rubles, respectively, and with 6/64 GB parameters - 16,990 rubles. This is if you buy on the official website of the manufacturer, but you can find it cheaper: for example, on the website bringly.ru (marketplace from Yandex and Sberbank). There, at the time of writing, this smartphone is offered for 3,000 rubles cheaper.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: configuration and performance

The lightweight version of the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 with 3/32 GB of memory on board comes in a durable cardboard box with documentation, power adapter, charging cable, “clip” for opening the SIM tray, protective glass and a silicone case. To be honest, the design of the smartphone is so good that you don’t really need a case.

The fact is that the back cover of the smartphone is made of plastic with a rough surface, which provides good tactile grip when you hold the smartphone in the palm of your hand. And the feeling is much more pleasant than using phones with a glossy glass finish. In our case, the cover color is brown (there is also a black one), and the device with 4/64 GB of memory has a version with a blue color, which looks more interesting.

The Highscreen Power Five Max 2 body , the phone is heavy and inspires confidence. The build quality is at a very good level - there are no loose elements. The buttons sit securely and firmly in the grooves, and the smartphone itself creates the feeling of a weighty block that pleasantly weighs down the hand and gives a physical understanding that there is a phone in it. At the same time, despite the high-capacity battery, the phone is not very thick (only 9.5 mm).

The manufacturer moved the tray for installing a SIM card (two nano SIM cards can be used simultaneously) and a microSD flash drive (replaces the second SIM card) to the top edge of the smartphone, and a 3.5 mm jack is located on the bottom edge. It’s nice that they didn’t abandon it for the sake of trendiness. But to connect the charging cable, a microUSB connector is used instead of the traditional USB Type-C.

Highscreen Power Five MAX 2 review: this smartphone will outlive you

Nowadays, few people can be surprised by the power of a smartphone, the pixel density of the screen, a camera or even several cameras that take high-quality photos, fast charging or an NFC module for contactless payment. But what can really please any consumer is the lifespan of a smartphone on a single charge, that is, the volume of its battery. Fortunately, we received just such a smartphone for testing, which has all these characteristics and is ready to satisfy the needs of almost any consumer. Let's welcome Highscreen Power Five MAX 2 - a smartphone that definitely deserves your attention.

Highscreen is our domestic company, and therefore I believe that Power Five MAX 2 was created with all understanding of life in our, if not harsh, then difficult conditions. The first impression of any device is always created by its appearance and how it feels in the hand. In this regard, we definitely liked the new flagship from Highscreen, since its body is surrounded by a solid metal frame, the glass of the front panel is rounded at the edges, and the entire rear surface has a rough texture that is pleasant to the touch and very practical for everyday use. We received a brown version of the smartphone for testing, but to be honest, I really liked the blue one. In general, the smartphone is available in three body colors: black, brown and blue.

Continuing the theme of the appearance of the Power Five MAX 2, we cannot help but say that despite the large battery, which, in theory, should make the smartphone a real giant, the device does not seem so huge in the hand. The corners of the case are rounded, the weight of 220 grams is not felt at all, and the aforementioned rough texture of the back prevents the phone from slipping out of hands, gloves, or even knitted mittens on a frosty winter morning. And if this is not enough for you, and all your phones are always trying to test the law of universal gravitation, then the Highscreen company has also taken care of you, including a silicone case and a protective glass for the screen in the Power Five MAX 2 kit.

At the bottom end of the Power Five MAX 2 case, a micro-USB charging connector (it is not in the center, but slightly shifted to the side) and a standard 3.5 mm audio jack are located in a non-standard way. On the sides of the two connectors there are identical perforation grilles, but under one of them there is a single speaker, and under the second there is only a microphone.

The volume buttons and the power/lock button are located on the right side of the smartphone, and in order not to confuse them by touch, the attraction button has a clearly visible grooved texture.

On the top edge we have a connector with a combined tray for a SIM card (two SIMs or one SIM and a microSD card), and on the back there is a dual camera module, an LED flash, a microphone and a fingerprint sensor.

Now let's take a look inside the Power Five MAX 2, fortunately, everything is fine there too. The new product from Highscreen runs on a well-proven 8-core Mediatek MT6763V processor, supported by a Mali-G71 video accelerator and 4 GB of RAM. All this “hardware” will not make the smartphone a winner when it comes to record performance, but during everyday use it will allow you to enjoy the smooth operation of the system. You can play all modern games on a smartphone, but in titles like PUBG, Fortnite and World of Tanks, you will have to set the graphics settings to minimum.

A significant role in the performance of the Power Five MAX 2 is played by the Android OS, which is well optimized and not overloaded with third-party shells and add-ons, under which the device operates. For this optimization and speed of the system we need to thank the programmers and engineers of the Highscreen company.

Perhaps the main trump card of the Power Five MAX 2 is its huge 5000 mAh battery. Such a “beast” is capable of giving a smartphone life for two whole days after one full charge, and up to 4 days with activated energy saving mode. As I wrote above, with such a large battery, the smartphone did not turn out to be huge or thick (the body thickness is only 9.5 mm), and this is the merit of the Highscreen company. One of the main trends in the mobile device market now is charging – both wireless and fast wired. Highscreen is not lagging behind its competitors here, adding to its new smartphone support for fast wired charging and even fast wireless charging from Qi standard adapters with a power of up to 10 W.

Now I would like to say a few words about the screen of the new product, since when choosing any smartphone this aspect is one of the most important. The Power Five MAX 2 has a 5.99-inch IPS matrix with Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, and thanks to it the screen is good. It has a high pixel density per inch and there is no way to distinguish individual pixels on this screen with the naked eye, and the viewing angles and color calibration will please the user every time you look at it from any angle.

The cameras in the Power Five MAX 2, I’ll say right away, can’t offer anything outstanding. They're not bad here, but they're not great either. The main camera has two modules, one of which is 16 megapixels and the other is 8 megapixels. In good lighting, as usual, the photographs turn out bright, juicy and sharp, but if you slightly change the shooting conditions for the worse, dimming the light, for example, and the smartphone cameras no longer produce such an excellent picture as before. Sometimes the white balance in the resulting photos is poor, leaning a little towards blue, and the contrast in the room decreases. This is a completely normal situation for a device that does not pretend to be a camera phone and, with all its advantages, costs only 14 thousand rubles. Still, it couldn’t do without the features typical of big players in the mobile photography market, such as Bokeh and PDAF focus.

Here are examples of pictures taken with Power Five MAX 2:

Taking into account all the positive aspects of the Highscreen Power Five MAX 2, such as a fast system, support for fast and wireless charging, an NFC module, a 3.5 mm jack, a large screen, a well-built body and a simply huge battery, this smartphone seems to be significantly higher cost than 14 thousand rubles. For such relatively little money you get a truly working tool that will serve you faithfully for many years and, who knows, maybe someday you will inherit it to your son or grandson, and by that time the battery will be gone will not be discharged yet.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: display and operating system

The smartphone has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with relatively thin bezels on the sides and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The internal rounding of the screen at the corners evokes only positive emotions, reminiscent of modern flagships. Directly above the screen, in a wide black frame, there is an earpiece and a selfie camera lens with a light sensor.

Instead of the usual Gorilla Glass protection, Japanese-made Asahi Dragontrail glass is used here. It is said to have greater strength than Gorilla and is resistant to bending pressure. True, the durable metal frame of the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 will not allow you to bend the phone so easily.

If we talk about brightness, then Highscreen lacks it a little, but when using the smartphone in direct sunlight, the readability of the display from different angles remains at an acceptable level. Color rendition does not suffer from incorrect shades, but out of the box the smartphone is configured to display cool shades. If you want to add warmth, you are welcome to “Settings | Screen | MiraVision”, moving on to which we note that the phone runs on Android 8.1 OS.

At the same time, you will not find any advertising applications from sponsors here, despite the fact that the manufacturer is domestic. Only the necessary Google services, file manager, radio, calculator, etc. Highscreen also does not use any proprietary launchers or skins, so if you are switching to this smartphone from another domestic Android device, all menu items will seem familiar to you. And therefore, you won’t have to figure out your smartphone for a long time. The device responds to touch input quickly and smoothly, and therefore does not give the impression that you are holding a cheap phone in your hands.

Highscreen Power Five MAX 2 review: it will definitely last a long time

We live in an amazing time: a huge amount of information passes through us every day - social media feeds alone provide us with a gigantic amount of traffic: streams of videos, music, news messages from Twitter and a bunch of photos from Instagram. Such an array of data, passed through a phone, can drain almost any battery in no time. As a result, we got used to charging our smartphone 2 times a day and living in short dashes from outlet to outlet. The guys from Highscreen managed to solve this vicious dependence on wires and sockets. They equipped their new smartphone with a 5000 mAh battery, which allows it to last up to 2 days in the most intense use mode. Meet Highscreen Power Five MAX 2!

The main disadvantage of smartphones with such a huge battery is their size. Devices with a battery larger than 3000 mAh look ridiculous and bulky; sometimes carrying such a device requires a separate handbag or a very large pocket. But the guys from Highscreen managed to create a miracle. The Power Five MAX 2 smartphone is less than a centimeter thick and has a 5000 mAh battery. In fact, this smartphone is the longest-lasting smartphone we've ever tested. In merciless operation mode, the device lasts two days.

And this is in normal operating mode... But, in addition to standard operation, the device can also operate in a special energy saving mode. The latter puts the smartphone into austerity mode, in which the device turns off most functions and makes the screen duller. This mode allows you to almost double the life of the device and get as many as four days of work instead of two days. But on average about three days.

Unfortunately, they removed the ability to charge other devices via OTG, and this is perhaps the main disadvantage (and almost the only one). In general, the device’s equipment was pleasing: the manufacturer did not skimp on a nice silicone case, protective glass and powerful charging. The cover is non-removable, and you won’t be able to replace the battery yourself, but you can expand the smartphone’s memory using a microSD memory card slot. In addition, there is also one combined slot for a SIM card.

Both slots are located at the top end and work perfectly with Russian fourth-generation networks.

The case is made in a design familiar to this segment and to the manufacturer itself. The side frames are aluminum, and on the back there is a textured plastic cover, familiar to us from other smartphones from this manufacturer (so that the phone does not slip out of your hands). Fingerprint scanner on the back wall. At the same time, it is located a little high, and some users will have to reach for it. But the Power button is located in the very place where it should be. It also has a nice texture that makes it stand out from the volume buttons located on the same side.

It feels very tactile in the hand. It is moderately heavy (220 g), with aluminum side edges and is only 9.5 mm thick. It is thanks to these parameters that it feels like a holistic, monolithic and strong smartphone.

At the bottom there is a micro-USB port (guys, what about Type-C) and... a 3.5 mm audio output. For this I bow deeply.

The 5.99-inch screen fits neatly into a body that is quite compact for a device with a 5000 mAh battery. Power Five MAX 2 is equipped with an IPS matrix with Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2160, it is of very good quality and does not have the parasitic distortions inherent in some screens made using this technology. If you are used to high PPIs and have good eyesight, then even then the pixels will not be visible to you. The picture, like on many IPS matrices, looks excessively bright and unnaturally rich. We are not going to argue about whether such color rendition is good or not, because visual perception is a purely subjective matter. For particularly demanding users, the developers have provided the ability to adjust adaptive brightness. And to close the topic of the screen, it is worth noting its good behavior in the sun and a comfortable brightness range. That is, the screen allows you to read in complete darkness and does not dazzle at minimum brightness.

Good, but not the highest by modern standards, resolution has positive aspects. The processor and video accelerator do not have to process excess resolution, which has a positive effect on the performance of the smartphone. Power Five MAX 2 runs on an eight-core chip from Mediatek - MT6763V. This is a fairly recent 64-bit chip that provides a very decent level of performance. The smartphone uses Mali-G71 as a video accelerator. RAM – as much as 4 gigabytes. The combination of such technical characteristics allows the smartphone to easily handle all modern games without any problems. If we talk about performance through the prism of dry benchmark numbers, then in AnTuTu Power Five MAX 2 shows a result within 52 thousand points. In the Geekbench test, the smartphone scores just over 5 thousand points in multicore mode.

The smartphone does not suffer from a lack of performance, both on paper and in real life. When performing everyday tasks, this device with a monster battery behaves vigorously and does not lag at all. This is, first of all, the merit of the programmers and engineers of the Highscreen company, who did not build shells and other unnecessary software delights on top of stock Android. Now fans of custom recovery and scatter files will come running, but let's leave this for other smartphones. The device runs only a slightly modified Android 8.1 Oreo and doesn’t even think about it. Among the interesting additions, I would like to highlight support for NFC (Google Pay will help you), wireless fast charging (up to 10 W) and work with Pump Express 3.0. That is, your Highscreen will not only enjoy a long battery life, but will also charge quickly.

It's time to talk about the camera. More precisely, about cameras. As usual, there are three of them: the front one is 8 megapixels and the main one is 16 megapixels + 8 megapixels. To be honest, the cameras do not stand out in any way; the pictures taken in good daylight are quite good. However, it does not pretend to be a camera phone, although it has the makings - for example, a bokeh function and PDAF focus.

Here are examples of pictures taken with Power Five MAX 2:

Example photo on the main camera of Highscreen Power Five MAX 2 (source)

Example photo on the main camera of Highscreen Power Five MAX 2 (source)

There is a plus in separating the responsibilities of the sensors, and this leads to the fact that the pictures are really clear, but sometimes you can see a slight skew of the white balance towards cool shades, and indoor pictures turn out to be a little less contrasting than expected.

However, this is not what this device was created for. Power Five MAX 2 is, rather, a reliable and trouble-free working tool that remains in service for a long time and will not fail at the most inopportune moment. And if you take into account the low cost of 17 thousand rubles, which is very little money at the current exchange rate, then the Highscreen Power Five MAX 2 looks like a very tempting offer.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: equipment and performance

The hardware base of the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 includes an 8-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor with a Mali-G71 MP2 video chip (770 MHz) and 3 GB of RAM. Not bad for this type of device. When working with “light” applications, the smartphone uses a cluster of four energy-efficient cores (1650 MHz), designed to save battery capacity. And when starting games, for example, it switches to four more powerful cores (2300 MHz). With such power, the smartphone is capable of encoding and decoding 4K UHD video at 30 frames per second without any problems.

We won’t call this smartphone a gaming smartphone, but PUBG, World of Tanks and other demanding games run quite quickly on it at medium graphics settings with a frame rate just above 30 FPS. As for the internal memory: at a time when smartphones already have 128 GB of internal memory, 32 GB on board seems like a small option in terms of capacity, but if you do not plan to replace your home PC or laptop with a phone, the available memory is quite enough to store photos, install numerous applications, etc. In fact, out of 32 GB of memory, only 24.56 GB are free. 6.44 GB is occupied by the operating system with pre-installed applications.

Review of the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 4/64 GB smartphone

The Highscreen Power Five Max 2 operating system is based on Android 8.1. Considering that the smartphone is produced by a Russian company, it is quite expected that there will be no purely Chinese applications and the presence of a normal, complete translation of all settings menu items. Google apps are also installed out of the box and there is a radio. In a word, nothing superfluous. The user can install everything that is needed independently. When you first turned it on and connected to the Internet, the smartphone offered to download and install a firmware update. As you can see from the screenshot below, the update fixed the problem with bluetooth, which I read about in the profile thread on 4pda. During the week of using the phone, I did not notice any drops in the Bluetooth headphones.

After the update, about 55GB of internal memory became available, which can be increased by 128GB using a memory card. By the way, if you like to customize thermal color rendering yourself, Miravision is available here. It is also possible to enable automatic adjustment of the backlight brightness.

In the settings menu, basically all the items are standard and do not particularly stand out. The only thing I’ll stop and show in detail is the settings menu item with NFC, with which you can pay in stores. Its presence in a budget phone is always a clear plus for the model. One more item for those who like to use the camera will be extremely useful: in the settings you can activate the camera by double pressing the on/off button. Very convenient when you need to instantly take a photo.

Inside the smartphone there is a Helio P23 processor and a Mali-G71 MP2 video accelerator. In Antutu, on average, this processor scores about 83000-84000. The multi-touch screen is designed for 10 touches and this should be more than enough. When using a smartphone, how the light and proximity sensor works plays an important role, because no one wants to press the buttons on the screen or even turn on the speakerphone during a conversation. I didn’t notice such a problem with this model even after a huge number of calls. If we talk about satellites, the phone finds them very quickly. I used my phone as a navigation device and launched Strava a couple of times. What can I say as a result? The track of the phone does not rip, but the positioning accuracy could have been a little better: a couple of times the track showed that I was passing through buildings. The Wi-Fi signal on the phone is stable: I measured the signal level through the wall and directly at the modem itself. No viruses were detected on the phone.

This smartphone cannot be called a gaming smartphone, but all modern games will run on it. During testing, I played games such as PUBG and World of tanks. In PUBG, upon first launch, it immediately offered medium settings. You can play them without any problems. In tanks, the frame rate sometimes drops to 36 frames per second, but mostly I saw frame rates in the range of 44-56fps.

The Highscreen has a 5000mAh battery, which can be charged with the included charger with fast charging function or using 10W wireless charging, which is purchased separately. If we talk about native charging speed:

  • 0-25% in 20 minutes
  • 0-70% for 1 hour.
  • 0-100% in 1 hour. 46min.

To test the autonomy of smartphones, I mainly use two scenarios. For both, the screen brightness is set to 100 cd/m2. To do this, load a white picture from Photoshop with colors 255.255.2559 (pure white) and the brightness is set using the device that was used above to determine the ripple coefficient. In the game PUBG with 4G Internet turned on, the smartphone was discharged by 19% in an hour. In the second scenario, a YouTube video is played. In this case, the battery charge lasted a little more than 8 hours. At the same time, the discharge graph is smooth and there are no sharp changes. It would be possible to achieve better results if the screen resolution was lower, but I think this is a compromise between the quality of the screen image and battery life. I think the phone will work for two days on one charge without any problems in normal use.

The main camera consists of two modules 16MP and 8MP. In the daytime and in good lighting, the pictures are of normal quality for a budget phone. At the same time, in low light conditions and at night, the pictures cannot be called satisfactory; a lot of noise appears in the image. Among the shooting modes available are panorama, standard shooting, blur (bokeh), beautiful face. For video, you can activate electronic stabilization; the video is recorded with the mp4 extension.

Video sources one two three four
If I sum up this smartphone, what can I say about it? The smartphone looks good. The black rough surface helps the phone not to slip out of your hands. The back side looks interesting and I didn’t even think about using the included transparent silicone case. Plus, the build quality is excellent: nothing creaks or plays. As for me, the main feature of the model is a capacious battery, which will allow you to forget about the outlet for a couple of days and eliminate the need to carry a power bank with you. The autonomy when playing videos on YouTube was a little more than 8 hours and I consider this a good result. Well, if you are tired of constantly pulling the cable back and forth to charge your smartphone, then this model can be charged with wireless charging. The screen is juicy, rich and readable even in direct sunlight. The manufacturer did not overload the display with “notches” and “holes” and I think this is the right decision. With a screen size of 5.99″, the phone looks compact and fits comfortably in the palm of your hand. It is comfortable to use with one hand. Another positive aspect is the presence of NFC for contactless payment using a smartphone. There is also a notification indicator, which allows you not to turn on the phone again to check for missed messages or calls. The fingerprint scanner passed all 10 out of 10 test touches and there are no complaints about it. The speaker is loud enough, and the earpiece allows you to hear your interlocutor without any problems even near a noisy road. The smartphone’s camera takes good quality pictures during the day, but in low light, photos and videos would be better. In addition to the disadvantages, I will include the presence of a micro usb connector. At the same time, the phone will run all modern games, and if you don’t play, you’ll appreciate the speed of loading and moving between applications.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: wireless modules

Do you like to pay for purchases with your smartphone? This feature is provided in Highscreen Power Five Max 2 thanks to the presence of an NFC chip on board. Connecting to the mobile Internet is possible using the 4G LTE protocol, and for home Wi-Fi the IEEE 802.11 “n” standard is supported. Plus, a smartphone can act as an access point and distribute Internet access to those in need.

The GPS module quickly connects to satellites. A cold start takes no more than 3-5 seconds. Positioning is precise. The smartphone receives a 4G network reliably even in places with poor coverage. The only caveat is that when using our test SIM card from the MGTS operator, the speed of downloading and uploading files to the server does not excite the imagination.

Conclusion

Highscreen Power Five Max 2 has become a worthy successor to the Highscreen Power Five Max released in 2020. But despite the fact that the manufacturer itself positions the new product as a flagship smartphone, it is difficult to classify it as a flagship. Rather, this is a mid-range smartphone, as indicated by the characteristics and price. However, Highscreen Power Five Max 2 should appeal to those who are looking for a full-screen smartphone with a dual main camera, a fast processor and long battery life for a reasonable price.

Pros:

  • large widescreen display;
  • dual main camera;
  • Fingerprint's scanner;
  • support for two SIM cards and microSD memory card;
  • stylish design;
  • big battery.

Minuses:

  • microUSB port instead of the more modern USB Type-C;
  • For fast wireless charging, you must purchase a separate charger.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: cameras

Unfortunately, Highscreen does not provide information about the camera developer. The main module is represented by a dual camera with a resolution of 16+8 megapixels. Single selfie camera – 8 megapixels. The MediaTek Imagiq 2.0 feature set used by the processor allows the smartphone to perform instant automatic exposure compensation when shooting photos and videos, which has a positive effect on photo quality.

In daylight, the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 produces very decent pictures, which are worthy of praise for a device costing from 10,990 to 13,990 rubles. But the older model, the cost of which can reach 16,990 rubles, has competitors in this regard in the form of ASUS smartphones. In particular: ASUS Zenfone Max Pro (M2) and also with a 5000 mAh battery.

Our review: Highscreen Power Five Max 2 - a technologically advanced and productive long-liver

Details Category: Reviews Published: 03/15/2019 14:44 Author: Lewkee

The Highscreen company is known in the Russian market for its budget smartphones. Today I have in my hands the recent new product Highscreen Power Five Max 2 , which is distinguished by a powerful 5000 mAh battery, good hardware and support for wireless charging technology. So, let's go.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: battery life

The impressive lithium-ion battery is one of the hallmarks of the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 . 5000 mAh is enough for two days of active work or three days of periodic calls and interaction with instant messengers. If long battery life is important to you, HighScreen can do this, and not only in relation to the Power Five Max 2. And to ensure that the smartphone’s battery is charged quickly, it provides the possibility of accelerated charging with a power of up to 10 Watts (according to the Qi 10W standard). By the way, the older version of Power Five Max 2 (4/64 GB) also supports wireless charging.

Hardware and performance

The hardware core of the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 smartphone is the Mediatek Helio P23 chipset, which includes 8 cores with a frequency of 2.0 GHz and a Mali-G71 MP2 video processor. The filling, impressive for a budget employee, is complemented by 4 gigabytes of DDR4.

The volume of built-in ROM is 64GB, which can be expanded using MicroSD with a capacity of up to 128GB, however, sacrificing the ability to use a second SIM card. There is also a Lite version on the Russian market with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of ROM and without QI support. This model costs 3 thousand less.

What can I say, the smartphone runs very smoothly, does not slow down, and quite quickly runs modern games like World of Tanks at medium graphics settings.

Benchmarks also showed decent results.

Highscreen Power Five Max 2: test results

We tested the Highscreen Power Five Max 2 on AnTuTu Benchmark, where it scored 81,825. The smartphone also went through several runs in the 3DMark, PCMark and Geekbench benchmarks. To measure the speed of the Internet connection via Wi-Fi, the Speedtest utility was used, and the battery life was measured using the 3C Battery Monitor and PCMark Battery Life applications. In addition, we ran the VR Checker test on the smartphone, which determined that the mobile phone is suitable for playing VR and 360-degree content. First about the design

The all-metal body of the Highscreen Power Five Max is made of 6000-series aluminum and its design is a bit reminiscent of (but definitely does not copy) the LeEco, HTC 10 and OnePlus 3 smartphones. On the back panel, two neat plastic inserts are located horizontally, ensuring uninterrupted operation of the communication modules, In the center of the body there is traditionally a large logo, and in the upper part there is a rounded square of the main camera that shimmers in the light, a noise-canceling microphone and a flash. The main speaker grid, familiar to Highscreen, has changed its location and has been moved from the rear panel to the bottom edge. On one side of the micro-USB port there is a microphone perforation, on the opposite side there is a new speaker location. A 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones and an IR port for controlling household appliances are located on the top edge of the smartphone, and on the larger sides there are traditionally volume control and power buttons, a SIM card tray, and a microSD slot.

If we talk about the front side, the main difference between the Power Five Max and other Highscreen smartphones was the appearance of a mechanical Home button with a built-in fingerprint scanner. Above the screen in the center there is a speaker, and on the side of it there are symmetrically located circles of the front camera and auxiliary sensors. By the way, symmetry runs throughout the entire design of the Highscreen Power Five Max: all elements of the rear panel are arranged strictly vertically, the perforations and fastening screws are located clearly on the sides of the USB port, and there are two “eyes” above the screen on the sides of the speaker. All this creates the feeling of a well-thought-out, high-quality and expensive device; even if you really want to, you won’t be able to find fault with the design of the Power Five Max. Well, unless in principle you don’t like this style of appearance of smartphones, although this is a matter of taste, and not a real complaint against the manufacturer.

The thickness of the Power Five Max deserves special mention. Highscreen has taught its users that it makes no sense to sacrifice battery capacity and battery life for the thickness of a smartphone. In the new device, this approach no longer works, but you still won’t have to make compromises. Design engineers were able to fit a 5000 mAh battery into a body that is just 8.2 millimeters thick, thin (less than 2 mm) bezels on either side of the screen, and an adequate weight of 180 grams. The Power Five Max looks very stylish and compact, it’s really convenient to use, and at some moments you can’t even believe that we’re actually talking about a smartphone with great battery life.
