The only thing is that, as already mentioned, to transmit the image, an analog signal is used, which can be converted to any other. In addition, the size of the adapter itself is significantly reduced, and it can be integrated directly into the motherboard or additionally into the video card.

DVI to VGA converters work because the signal goes from digital to analog, which is simply a translation in the DVI pins since DVI supports both analog and digital signals. VGA is only analog, so going from VGA to DVI requires a converter to change those analog signals to digital.

Upgrading your graphics card to support a newer monitor will likely be less expensive and make more sense in the long run.

All types of computer cables are gender specific - male or female. A male cable is one that has its connections protruding or protruding from the cable. Plug connections are reverse-faced, with internal holes that allow the male cable to fit perfectly into the socket connection.
