iPad Calculator & Currency Converter Calculator
My favorite calculator. I don’t even know why him. Most likely, a combination of factors influenced it: design, functionality, constant updates. It has a bunch of built-in calculators that calculate tips, build graphs and do simple calculations.
System application "Calculator" in macOS.
On Mac devices, this program allows you to track the history of your calculations. For this:
- Go to "Calculator".
- Click "Window" and select "Show Calculation Ribbon".
By viewing the calculation feed, you can find out all the previously performed operations and copy them into a table, document or presentation.
A built-in unit converter is available in the application. Enter the required value and click "Convert". Select the conversion type from the following: weight and mass, time, pressure, length, power, volume, area, speed, temperature, energy and work. You can also use a currency converter.
In this system application, you can perform various calculations. Turn on “Engineering Mode” and additional features of the program will open to you. For this:
- Click View.
- Select "Engineering" mode.

To enable the mode:
- Press the keyboard shortcut ⌘Command + 3 or open the “View” menu and select the “For Programmer” mode.
To return to the standard calculator, press ⌘Command + 1 or the View menu and select Standard mode. In this mode you can perform basic calculations.

Calculator for iPad - which one to choose?
Everyone, of course, has different tastes and different requirements for the appearance and functionality of a particular application. For me, an iPad calculation app must meet the following requirements:
- work in portrait and landscape mode;
- full support for multitasking in iPadOS, that is, the calculator works with another application in Slide Over and SplitView mode, preferably with support for copying calculation results by dragging from window to window;
- preferably large virtual numeric keys, like those of an accounting calculator in portrait mode for easy finger-tapping, and a large virtual digital display;
- the presence of a calculation history from which intermediate stages of calculations can be copied;
- the ability to copy and paste calculation results into other applications;
- the presence of parentheses, percentages, the ± sign and memory in standard calculator mode for correct arithmetic calculations;
- advertising in the free version should not be intrusive and take up large space on the screen;
- The full version of the application cannot be a subscription and must cost adequate money.
In the App Store search query, I entered “calculator” and selected from the 40 applications that came up according to my request, the nine that best met my requirements.

In landscape orientation, a calculation log is available from which results can be copied. Calculator+ is an excellent choice for schoolchildren and students
The application has large calculator keys. Advertising at the bottom of the screen is unobtrusive. The free version is quite enough. There is a currency converter and fraction calculations supported for those who need it. Entering fractions is really very convenient. You can copy and paste calculation results. Full-fledged work with another application on one iPad screen has been implemented. It is also possible to copy calculation results to other applications using drag-and-drop. The standard calculator includes parentheses, raising to the second power, and taking square roots.

This calculator has long been my favorite and only computing app on the iPad as it has very nice themes and in portrait mode the calculator has large, easy to use virtual number keys, just like a regular accounting calculator. In landscape orientation, the calculator changes from a standard calculator to a scientific calculator. In addition to the calculator, a convenient converter is also available.

But you need to know that to purchase the full version without advertising you will have to pay 1290 rubles, which is clearly a bit expensive for a simple, albeit very beautiful calculator. You can copy and paste calculation results and work with the calculation log. The application is fully functional in multitasking mode on the iPad.
