There are special programs for creating collages for both smartphones and computers. For example, Photo Collage. It is free. You can download it on your PC using the search engine in which you find it. And follow simple steps to install it. Next, launch the program and select “New Collage”.
We choose a template according to the theme: simple, children's, wedding and others. You can also select a background. And place photos in the empty windows in any order. Afterwards you need to save it so that you can print it or set it as a screensaver on your desktop.
What is collage?
A collage is a composition of several photographs against a common background. Today, electronic collages are the most widely used. They are created using ready-made templates, where the background and location of the pictures are pre-selected - you just need to insert the frames into frames, or they are made independently in graphic editors.
To create electronic collages use:

How to make a collage on your computer from a photo without installing a program
This option is simple in that you do not need to have special programs; you use what is already installed on your computer. Such programs are programs from the Microsoft Office , namely the Word text editor, the Power Point and the Publisher .
Publisher is a program more suitable for creating not only collages, but generally any layouts for subsequent printing, for example, booklets, brochures, etc.
Creating a collage here comes down to simple and general steps. First, open a new layout, orient the sheet as needed (horizontally or vertically). Then we create a background, if necessary, and after that we insert photographs. We reduce them, trim them and arrange them as needed. If necessary, we frame the photographs or decorate them as planned.
Such actions are also typical for two other office programs. In Power Point, open a blank slide and create a background for it, if necessary. The program has a lot of options for this. Right-click on the slide and select the background format in the window that opens. In the settings window, select any background option from plain to textured. You can even set any of your photos as the background.
After creating the background, take the required number of photographs and place them on the created background. When you select a photo, we will see that there are white dots along the edges, with which you can resize the photo, and a green dot, which rotates the photo.
In addition, the photo can be cropped. To do this, double-click on it and the editing menu will open at the top of the program. Here in the upper right corner we find the photo cropping icon.

However, these programs are not special for creating collages, so they are limited in many ways and the collages in them are quite simple. If you want to amaze your friends with your creativity. It is better to use special programs, for example “collage master”.
Photoshop.
And now we come to Photoshop. Launch the photo editor Photoshop. You need to select images for the composition in advance. After launch, we load all the selected images into it.
Advice. Choose no more than 8 photos, otherwise it will be difficult to see them.
Click create file and select a size larger than the expected result. Next, insert the photos onto the canvas using the “copy”-“paste” command.
We arrange the pictures in the order we want. The next step is to merge all the layers and optionally add a watermark.
How to combine pictures in Paint on any PC
Connecting pictures in Paint is not difficult, but follow the instructions to do it correctly. Please note that to combine two photos in Paint, you need to open them one by one, not together. To glue pictures together in Paint:
- Open one photo in Paint
- Select it and click “Copy” on the top panel
- Open the second photo
- Enlarge the image area by left-clicking on the border and dragging it
- Click “Insert”. The first image will appear
- Drag it onto an empty background
- Select both images and click “Crop”
- Save to join two images in Paint

And it’s good if, for example, on Facebook, VKontakte or Odnoklassniki you can post several photos at once in one post, but this trick won’t work on Instagram: you can post only one photo at a time. You just need not to get lost in this variety and choose the one that is most suitable for the photographs that you want to use to create a collage.
You can create a collage from two photos (minimum number) or six (maximum number). Of course, there is also an option with one photo, but this cannot be called a collage. Once you select the desired template, you will enter editing mode. Here you just need to click on the part of the template where you want to insert the photo and select it from your gallery. Of course, you shouldn’t leave empty space on the template.
After you insert a photo into a certain place, it can be processed. The most common processing option is to resize the photo up or down. In addition, it can be expanded or mirrored. And, of course, it would not be possible to use filters.
By the way, another nice thing: you can always change the borders inside the template at your discretion. Thus, from thirty-six standard templates, you can create an infinite number of unique templates. Moreover, you can change both the thickness of the lines and their color. Very good.
But an even more interesting point is that the PicPlayPost application allows you to create collages not only using photos, but also using videos. As with photos, you can use up to six videos in one collage. Moreover, the length of one video can be up to ten minutes.
Once your collage is ready, you can export it from PicPlayPost directly to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or tumblr. In addition, you can send your collage via e-mail or SMS. And if you don't need all this, just save the collage to the gallery on your iOS device.
