A little theory
The SU binary file itself provides those advanced powers, giving the user the ability to perform any operation on their device, including modifying most system files.
Without this file system object, you will not have root rights.
Even when the SU is not up to date, SuperSU will provide the necessary privileges in most cases, but constant warnings and possible bugs and gaps in an outdated SU can be a problem.
Rice. 1 - SuperSU
SuperSU and similar programs allow you to manage the obtained capabilities, allowing or prohibiting other applications to run under the super administrator.
So, let's figure out what to do when SuperSU or similar system applications offer to update the binary file.
The instructions are relevant for situations when a message appears with other problems regarding the SU: it is busy or absent (not installed).
How to install the Su binary file on Android using custom Recovery
Did the method described above not solve the problem? Well, this is possible, especially for HTC models. In this case, you will have to use custom (alternative) recovery. And if you don’t have it installed yet, but you still have the desire to become an advanced user of the Android OS, then you will have to install it sooner or later. Because this tool will allow you to perform many necessary operations: create backups, install system updates or flash your Android with a different version of the operating system (ROM), etc.
We will not tell you now how to install custom Recovery, because this is a topic for a separate conversation, and if you are interested in it, write, and we will tell you in detail how to perform this operation.
Now we will assume that you are on topic and return to our question. That is, if you have a custom recovery (or you know how to install it), then look at the last screenshot, and instead of the “ Normal”
", press "
CWM/TWRP
". After completing the procedure, we reboot the smartphone, after which, along with the system update, the Su binary file will also be updated.
The easiest way
For many users on many devices, the problem is solved very simply, and no knowledge or additional software is required.
The method is to uninstall the current version of SuperSU and install its previous edition.
It is unknown how the device will behave with the previous release of the application, because the program is updated periodically, but it has been noted that switching to SuperSU v2.79 solves the problem.
Rice. 2 – SuperSU rollback to version 2.79
You can get an old release of the utility by finding an archive of its versions on any forum or portal, for example here.
The second way
There are several ways to solve the problem. Let's start with the simplest for a beginner.
It consists of using a Chinese (no need to be afraid) utility, through which many receive those treasured advanced powers for complete control of their smartphone or tablet.
This is Baidu Root program.
It is not available in the Google Playmarket because it is a hacker, and careless and inept handling of the functionality can lead to problems, for example, you will need to reflash the device.
- Download the utility from a trusted source. Since the official website is not working at the moment, it can be downloaded from the 4pda forum as an apk file.
- We launch it, accept the terms of use and give all the required privileges, having previously enabled the installation of applications from untrusted sources in the settings of your smartphone.
Rice. 3 – Terms of use of Baidu Root
- The next interface is a window with the name of the model of the device being used and another button (“Get Root”). We click on it, which will give superuser privileges, thereby updating the binary file, which is what we need.
Rice. 4 – Getting root
- Afterwards, the smartphone will reboot, Baidu Root will launch and require SuperSU to have advanced powers. We provide them.
- Next, you will be asked to update the binary file. The left button prohibits updating, the right button allows. Click on the last one (“Continue” in the Russian version).
Rice. 5 – SU Update
- Next, you need to click on the “Normal” button in the window asking you to use custom recovery, if available.
Now errors with the SU file, whether it is busy, not updated or missing, will disappear.
