Photos are an integral part of any article on a social network. The Odnoklassniki website is no exception. You may like any photo or even an entire album and want to download it.
The fact is that Odnoklassniki is a social network where mainly people of the older generation “live”. Therefore, not everyone can understand how to download photos to a computer from Odnoklassniki. This article will describe this procedure (read about how to send a video on Odnoklassniki here).
A note about browsers
Not every browser allows you to save photos directly from the Odnoklassniki feed. For example, Opera, the work with which we demonstrate to you in the illustrations, will resist “to the last bullet.” If you have Mozilla FireFox installed, it’s easier for you than others, and perhaps you shouldn’t read the text further. The result of Opera's behavior when you right-click on an image is visible in the following illustration:
In the drop-down menu that opens, there is not even a line about saving an object, in our case a photograph. Everything is lost? Not at all!
How to save photos from classmates to your computer in Internet Explorer
The following instructions will show the nuances of downloading photographs from “OK” using the standard Microsoft browser – Internet Explorer. The procedure is absolutely similar to the one described above.

Oh joy! The new menu already has a line to save photos. The easiest way is to select the line “Save image as...” and receive a request to confirm the selected action:
Messages look almost the same in all other browsers existing in the world. Why is such a simple technique not very convenient? Do you see in the illustration the red oval that marks the field with the name of the saved file? Each time you will have to give it a new name, otherwise all frames will be named IMAGE and either overwrite the previous one saved, or be saved in this version: “image (1)”, “image (2)”, etc. First things first Let’s save the downloaded frame by renaming it manually.
Now let's make one more small but important digression.
Download to phone/tablet
Uploading a picture to your phone is no more difficult. To do this, you will need to use the Odnoklassniki mobile application.
- For example, you want to download a photo from your friend's page. Go to his page and click on the “Photo” tab.
- All images will open - click on the one you like.
- There are three dots in the upper right corner. Click there.
- A menu will open with various actions. Click “Save to device.”
- The photo will be downloaded to your smartphone or tablet.
About file names, folders and more
On the Odnoklassniki website, the number of images exceeds all reasonable limits. Of course, you can add them to your feed by clicking the “Share” link. But this is not always convenient, since the frames go one after another “by age”; sorting them and moving them into albums is an activity that requires time, attention, and dexterity. And if you save photos to your laptop for a collection, then you can immediately organize them in a convenient way.
Therefore, take the following simple principles as a rule:
- Create a separate folder for each “convenient occasion”. In other words, make a folder with a name, for example “Photos from Odnoklassniki”, go inside and make a few more folders: “Jokes”, “Photos of my class”, “Relatives”, “Quotes”, “Handicrafts”, etc. Naturally , you will name the folders yourself as you see fit.
- The files should also have meaningful names; as a last resort, make another folder, for example “Stuff,” where you will save all the files without renaming them, but which you plan to sort later. Keep this folder under constant control - it tends to grow to incredible sizes!
Why is it necessary?
OK is the second most popular social network in Russia. It provides many opportunities for users and has a number of advantages:

At the moment there are few of them. Moreover, he is generally alone. When downloading, the file will be saved to your computer in its original size and with the name under which the user uploaded it to the site. This is good because, most likely, you won’t need to rename the file manually and the quality and size of the image will be the highest possible. The second convenience is saving “live” frames in GIF format.
This function already has several more options. The file can be downloaded in different formats - as a picture or as a video. You will have to choose the right one yourself. For example, to upload back to the site, you should select “GIF” as an image, and if you want to upload the file to YouTube video hosting or similar, select “MP4”.
Programs, applications, extensions for mass saving media data from OK
It doesn’t matter what you choose: a program, application or extensions for bulk downloading media objects from a social network. They all belong to the same category of tools – parsers. Parsing is a relatively recent innovation in the IT field, which helps to collect the necessary information automatically. Using the data obtained, you can develop strategies for marketing, sales, or, as in our case, simply download a lot of the files you like in a few clicks. To use the software you do not need to be a professional in the field of computerization. The program is entirely in Russian. To copy pictures to your desktop, you need to specify the address of their location and note what you want to download: all of them or you are only interested in individual objects. The big advantage is that NewDownloander can work with several addresses simultaneously. While saving, you can view/listen to files in the background or slide mode.
But no matter how useful parsers are, from a legal point of view, they are not entirely legal. After all, you are collecting information about another user without his permission. Even if you just want to put a picture on your desktop, your action may be considered prohibited. In addition, Odnoklassniki itself prohibits collecting other people’s data and using third-party programs for this.
If you are caught doing this, the minimum that could threaten you is blocking from the social network, and the maximum is legal action from particularly “offended” users. But in order to track down the “attacker”, that is, you will have to be very confused, so you don’t have to worry too much.

Is it possible to download all photos at once?
The most difficult question, in addition to those discussed above, in the series: “how to download photos from classmates” is downloading images not individually, but in entire albums. Is it possible? The answer is yes, definitely! But in reality this is not always possible. The simplest method is to use the same SAVEFROMNET plugin. There is only one small but unpleasant detail. The administration of the Odnoklassniki website is in no way interested in photos being downloaded even individually, much less as entire albums.
Therefore, from time to time the structure of the site becomes more complicated and all previously described methods become invalid. On the other hand, the SAVEFROMNET developers are also not lagging behind. Periodic updates to their program add new functions or restore broken ones. This works for a while. Therefore, if, after doing all the above steps to download a photo, you only see the “Download” line with the specified file size, then the function is not available. After updating the program (happens automatically), the line “Download the entire album” may appear - this is your “lost Eden”. By this point, you may already have several albums in your bookmarks. Take this opportunity and download them while the feature is available.
