Completing the Avast installation process
You can make the settings to your taste, or you can just do everything as you see in the screenshot above (or below), which will allow you to unscrew your Avast
antivirus to a more or less adequate level and mode, before and after installation.
Next, you will need to wait for the installation process, which takes place in the background, to complete. Despite the recommendations of the antivirus itself, I would advise you not to make unnecessary movements during this process.
Clicking the Continue
“Actually, you will need to agree to a confidentiality agreement (always loved this phrase):
You can read it, you can not, it’s up to you, of course, but you’ll have to agree one way or another, but then you can disable sending unnecessary data in the settings, which, in fact, is said right before the “ Continue”
«.
If you want to know more, want to learn this professionally and understand what is happening, then.
Next, if you have nothing to do, you will be asked to install an antivirus on your phone, or rather on almost any device. I can hardly imagine why someone might need this, but if you suddenly think that this is vitally necessary for you, then you can install it, although I won’t discuss the mobile version in the review.
This completes the installation, let's move on to installing, configuring and using this joy of programming thought.
Tests and rewards [edit | edit code ]
The awards page on the official Avast website is updated several times a year.
AVAST Software is a Czech software development company with a free antivirus of the same name - Avast Free Antivirus.
Regardless of the chosen antivirus, it is often difficult to remove it, since residual files in the system and registry may remain and conflict with others. Let's look at the capabilities of Avast Software and methods for completely uninstalling a program in Windws 7 and 10.
Working with antivirus
After the installation is complete, the operating system will reboot. The antivirus starts automatically, and you can get to work. Setting up the program is very easy. This is practically unnecessary unless you need to enable special permissions for network connections.
To use the free version, you just need to enter your credentials. They don't pass the test. Therefore, if you are not going to contact support, you can enter any and you will receive timely updates of both the virus database and software. After activating your credentials, Avast will notify you that you are protected.
Many features will not be available in the free version, but you can “Upgrade” at any time.
What is this program
Avast Software is not just an antivirus package, it is a comprehensive protection tool that includes a lot of components that protect your PC.
Among the main features:
- File control - the program controls interaction with files from other software and prevents changes in Windows system folders;
- Built-in firewall - control access to your computer via the Internet;
- Internet traffic control - the system analyzes potentially dangerous and malicious sites, blocking access to them and warning the user;
- Scheduling scans - after installing an antivirus program, it is already fully configured for protection, but any user can change the settings as they wish.
This is not the entire list of possibilities, but if you still decide to uninstall this program, you must do it correctly.
Avast Antivirus Service - what is it?
The main process that manages Avast antivirus services, including real-time protection, virus storage, and scheduler. Belongs to the Avast Antivirus service:
Yes, for the sake of experimentation, you can select Disabled in the Startup type, then reboot. To prevent the service from starting the process. But it seems to me that then the antivirus simply will not work or will start the service itself.
The process name is AvastSvc.exe, it runs from this folder:
C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast
I have this antivirus installed on my test PC. In the normal state, the process is present in the manager, but does not load the PC:
All security screens are enabled. That is, the antivirus works and in normal operation Avast Antivirus Service should not load the PC.
It is possible that it only loads when the PC scans. I installed Avast on its own, with some software, and the funny thing is that it’s not clear how to stop scanning if it’s in progress.
In general the gist:
- You need to check your settings. Namely, the schedule of checks, I have a free version, there are no such options at all. But if you have a paid one, check it.
- Another version loads because it updates its components. Maybe if the Internet is slow, it downloads slowly and as a result the process is delayed.
- It is possible that the antivirus is loading due to screens. If so, then this is some kind of glitch, it shouldn’t be this way.
To check whether the screens are the problem or not, right-click on the tray icon and select disable all screens:
You will also need to confirm:
Afterwards, reboot.
It’s also worth tinkering with the settings. How to open settings? Double-click on the tray icon:
Then in the antivirus, click the menu button in the upper right corner:
Select Settings:
And then we go to the Protection section. It is in this section that it seems to me that 95% of the time there is some option, or several, that load the PC. However, disabling them will reduce the security of your PC. By the way, I’ll give you some advice: maybe you should uninstall Avast and install the free version of Kaspersky Free instead? I tested it once and didn’t notice any brakes.
Try going to Protection > Core Components - Reduce Sensitivity, this may help. There you can also disable CyberCapture technology and turn off rootkit detection (hacker software):
Also below are the settings for the protection component. Here you can try unchecking these boxes:
Your task is to find out which setting is causing the load on the computer. Next, on the Behavior Analysis tab - look also, uncheck the box, suddenly it slows everything down:
And the last thing you can do is to uncheck the checkboxes on the Web Protection tab, but I think they are unlikely to load:
To save the settings, you don’t need to press the OK button, because it simply doesn’t exist, we just exit.
How to remove Avast Software from your computer
There are two methods to remove Avast Software from your computer:
- In Windows, through the Control Panel.
- Third-party programs, including the official utility from Avast.
Using standard Windows tools
First, you need to go to Avast settings, then “Troubleshooting” and in the “Enable Avast self-defense module” item you need to uncheck it, then click OK. Without unchecking this checkbox, deletion will be impossible.
Now you can standardly go to “Start” - “Control Panel” - “Programs and Features”, where you can find the program in the list (or through the search in the lower left corner of the Windows 10 screen) and remove it using the prompts on the screen.
But the process is not over; there are still files in the registry. To remove them, in the Start menu, you need to click “Search for files and programs” and enter “avast” in the search bar, and then delete all files and fragments that are found.
Third party software
Antiviruses are integrated into the system so that no virus can remove them, and sometimes it can be problematic to “demolish” them on your own. For this, Avast has its own utility - avastclear, which will cope with the task without unnecessary difficulties.
After installing it, you need to follow a few simple steps:
- Create a folder on your desktop and place avastclear there;
- Restart your computer and log into Safe Mode;
- Run the program aswClear;
- Select in the top menu the path to the folder with the antivirus or the antivirus itself;
- Click on Uninstall;
- After the removal is complete, restart your computer.
Uninstalling Avast Internet Security
Go to “Add or Remove Programs” and remove the antivirus:
At the same time, he will warn about the danger several times and ask you to come to your senses:
Warning 1
Warning 2
Warning 3 (last Chinese))
We boldly ignore all these “terrible things” and mercilessly delete it. At the end of the uninstallation, the antivirus asks you to reboot the computer, which we will do. Not necessary, but you can then clean the system with their proprietary Avast Uninstall Utility. This must be done in Safe Mode.
Avast registration
And then, after waiting a little, an offer to register appears.
Select basic protection. [ads2]
Fill in the fields (mandatory fields are indicated with an asterisk) and click on the “Register for a free license” button.
And now we have the long-awaited window of the work program. Note that the current status is displayed as “Registered” and the license expires in a year, that’s it.
Uninstalling the program
Oddly enough, the biggest problem in working with the program is its removal. If you want to install another antivirus, or some problems arise with Avast, you will have to perform some unusual steps in order to completely uninstall the antivirus. However, there are solutions that allow you to remove Avast correctly.
Removal using standard means
Everyone knows that the Windows operating system allows you to install and uninstall software. In order to remove Avast, you must perform the following steps:
After uninstalling Avast, it is advisable to check whether the antivirus program service was also removed or is still running. To do this, in the “Control Panel” you need to go to “Administration” and select “Services”. If the Avast service is listed, you need to configure it so that it does not start automatically.
Toolkit and video for the article
Optionally, you can use the Tools tab to add a firewall and sandbox to your antivirus, but this costs money.
More precisely, is it worth it or not, see for yourself, because the choice is yours. In case you decide to make a purchase, below there is a text with recommendations on where to purchase a license, guaranteed, with a discount and other goodies.
Oh, and yes, as promised, for those who want clarity, there is a video from our YouTube channel:
To tell the truth, the video was not updated for the latest version of the antivirus, but it may be useful to you for clarity.
