From phone
Some social networks are more focused on owners of various mobile devices. For example, this statement applies to Instagram. The resource was originally created for smartphones and tablets. The desktop version of the social network appeared a little later. However, it is not possible to delete an Instagram account through the application. Will it be possible to get rid of a Twitter profile using the mobile version of this social network? Yes, but in this case the algorithm of actions is slightly different:

How to backup your Twitter account
A backup copy will be useful for those who decide to temporarily delete their account. Removal does not happen instantly. A month must pass for the account to completely disappear along with all data.
In order to create a backup, there is no need to use third-party services. Everything is done directly in the profile. What do you need to do for this? Just press one button. It is located in the drop-down menu, which can be called up by clicking on the avatar.
After clicking on the “Settings and Privacy” item, you will be taken to another menu where you need to go to the very bottom. There is a “Request Archive” button. The more information on the account, the longer the archiving will take. But usually this process only takes a few minutes.
Deleting your page from Twitter
Method one: disabling your account through help materials.
You can learn how to use this resource correctly in the Help section. In the three previous pictures in the lower Menu of the site, this is the second inscription on the left. After clicking on it, the help center opens.
If the user learns to work with the site correctly, then perhaps he will change his mind about leaving. An old, multi-year account can bring certain benefits over time.
The Twitter Help Center provides answers to many questions.
On the same page, in the Search field, you can enter a query and receive a comprehensive answer. When asked to “delete account,” an explanation was given indicating that the account had been disabled.
It is clear that when any account is disabled, it is automatically queued for deletion. But you cannot remove yourself from Twitter this way from mobile devices; this option is not available for them.
Disabling means: if you no longer access the site, then after a certain period of time the account will be deleted automatically.
More information about account deactivation can be found here - support.twitter.com/articles/20169595
Method 2: Delete through the option of the same name on your page.
Log in to your account, click the “Settings” button on the top panel on the right side of the page.
On the left side of the settings window there is a green inscription at the very bottom “Delete my account”. After clicking on it, you will have to read a warning that the page will be deleted, but for several days it will be visible until search engine robots remove it from their collection of Twitter pages.
There is often a saying on the Internet: “Twitter is the future!”
Just in case, before deciding to leave Twitter, you should play it safe and change your email address and phone number so you can use them next time. What if you want to return to the site again or such a vital need arises?
Method 3: removal using special services
There is an opinion that it is impossible to leave any social network forever. The profile of the deleted user is simply blocked and becomes inaccessible to him, but the page remains. To disappear not only from Twitter, but also from any social network or from all of them at once, you need to use special services: justdelete.me or suicidemachine.org.
Both servers are English-language, but an electronic translator will help you read the instructions for using the service.
Those who want to delete their page from Twitter can use any method. In the first two, the personal page will finally disappear after some time, when the search engine updates its cache. The third method will allow you to permanently remove yourself from social networks.
What else you need to know about deleting from Twitter
A little higher – specifically in the instructions for deactivating accounts – we wrote about the block of useful information that the service places immediately before deletion. And so that you don’t have to read all this in a hurry, we suggest you familiarize yourself with this important information now.
- Fact one: deactivation lasts 30 days. This has already been discussed several times in the article, so remember: after 30 days, the service will completely and irrevocably delete your account.
- Fact two: you don’t need to close your existing account in order to change the URL of your Twitter page or username. You can do this at any time in the Profile Settings, either from a computer or from a smartphone.
- Fact three - the username and e-mail can be reused only after the old account is completely deleted. That is, for 30 days, the email address and username will be reserved, and you will not be able to create a new profile with them. So you will either have to wait 30 days, use new data, or change the data before deleting your Twitter profile.
- Fact four - immediately after deactivation, your profile may still be visible for some time. The fact is that the service takes some time to close your page from other users.
- Fact five: your Twitter information may be shown in search engines even after deletion. This is because Twitter does not control the internal workings of search engines. So the account may well appear in the search results of Google, Yandex and other search engines.
So now you know that deleting your Twitter account is very easy. This can only be done through a computer - neither from an iPhone, nor from an Android phone, nor from any other mobile device. And if you suddenly change your mind about deleting from the social network, you can restore access to your account within 30 days. And we’ll tell you how to do this later. A little bit later)
Removal via browser
If for some reason you do not want to continue using Twitter, you can completely delete your account.
Removal takes place in two stages. The user first performs an account deactivation, which disables and hides the profile for 30 days. During the specified period, it is possible to restore it, and to do this you just need to log in to your page. But if this was not done within the specified time, then the Twitter page will be permanently deleted along with all data.
Open Twitter.com in your browser, enter your username and password to log into the service. Click your profile icon on the top toolbar to expand the settings menu.
From the list of available options, select Settings & Privacy. Make sure the Account tab is selected in the left side menu.
Scroll to the very bottom of the screen. Here you will find a link to “Deactivate your account.” Click on it to start the removal process.
A window will appear in which the social network notifies that after starting the deactivation process, the username and profile will no longer be available. You will also be informed that within 30 days you will be able to interrupt the deletion procedure and restore your account if it was disabled accidentally or unlawfully, and to do this you just need to log into Twitter using your username and password during the specified period.
To confirm the operation, click the “Delete” button. After this, the account will be suspended and will not be visible on Twitter. If you do not log into your page in the next 30 days, it will be deleted forever. Therefore, now you need to be patient and wait until the account is completely removed from the service.
