Instructions for installing and configuring the scanner for remote network scanning

These software solutions significantly expand the capabilities of standard tools integrated into the operating system. Scanning programs allow you to edit the resulting files and also save them in various formats, such as PDF. These software tools are suitable for all known scanner models: Canon, HP, LG, Samsung, Epson and others. Many of the scanning programs presented on this list are in Russian. If you have any difficulties or problems, you can use the free assistant and ask your question.

Abbyy Finereader

Abbyy Finereader is the best document scanning program developed by the Russian company ABBYY. Using this tool, you can scan and OCR text from a variety of paper sources, including newspapers and typewriter texts. Finereader allows you to save files in all popular formats, and version 11 has the ability to save in djvu format. Abbyy Finereader perfectly supports 192 languages, 43 of which support spell checking. This program is used by more than 20 million people around the world.

Screenfly

Screenfly serves as a logical continuation of the previous service. Also worth noting is the large number of color settings, as well as the ability to save files in RAW format. This feature allows you to maximize the quality of professional photographs. With Vuescan, the user can run batch scanning and thereby process a large number of documents.

Qualys MD

Qualys Malware Detection allows you to continuously monitor malware activity on your website with an activity report. In it you can find fragments of infected code and cure them.

Qualys includes a control panel with easy configuration and an alert section for detected problems.

Winscan2PDF

Winscan2PDF is a portable, free document scanning program that allows you to scan and save the file in PDF format. The advantage of this application is its simple interface and high speed.

Multi-page scanning

The program allows you to scan multiple pages at the same time and save them into one multi-page file or into separate single-page files.

Please note that you can only save files in "PDF" or "TIFF" format to save multiple pages. Image formats such as JPEG do not allow multiple pages to be stored in a single file.

You can scan multiple pages of a document, magazine, or newspaper and save them as a single PDF or TIFF file on your computer.

Multi-page scanning to PDF and TIFF file

Select basic settings for the type of originals you scan. See Scan Settings.

Images can be easily retrieved (scanned) from TWAIN and WIA data source using the following steps:

1. Make sure your scanner/camera and software are installed and configured correctly.

Make sure your scanner/camera and software are installed and working correctly. Advanced TIFF Editor cannot help you configure your scanner, hardware, or camera software. Please contact the manufacturer of your scanner or camera hardware and software for technical assistance.

2. Select Twain or Wia source (scanner, camera, etc.)

The next step is to select the source that will be used for scanning. Open Advanced TIFF Editor

Select Scanner
. The following dialog box will appear:

The dialog box displays a list of scanners, cameras, and other TWAIN and WIA compatible devices that can be used with the Advanced TIFF Editor software. Select the desired device and click OK.

Please note: every time Advanced TIFF Editor

closes and restarts, you must repeat this step to scan the document.

3. Scan the document and open it in Advanced TIFF Editor.

Now that the scanner is selected, you are ready to scan. Insert the document into the scanner. This will launch your device's software user interface.

Click the Scan

" to send the document to the Advanced TIFF Editor. The document will be scanned and opened in Advanced TIFF Editor software.

Please note: Each manufacturer will have a different user interface for their software that comes with the device; however, the general idea is the same. For more information about using the software included with your scanner, contact the device manufacturer.

Upon completion

scan, you will be prompted to scan more pages.

If you want to scan more pages, place the next document on the scanner glass and click Yes.

When you are finished scanning all your documents, click the No

By repeating this step, you can scan all pages of the document.

The program will combine all scans into one document.

4. Editing and saving scanned pages.

In the Page List

Thumbnails of each scanned page are displayed. You can use many tools to select, rotate, rearrange, and delete pages in your document. Click the Help button for detailed information.

The application perfectly recognizes texts on paper with the possibility of subsequent editing. Cuneiform also has a large number of tools for scanning images. Cuneiform supports more than 20 languages, which include the following: Russian, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and many others. A special feature of the application is that it is open source, which allows developers from all over the world to constantly refine and improve it.

ReScan

ReScan performs behavioral scanning of static and dynamic pages. This tool provides a report with the following information:

• Are hidden redirects detected?
• Are there any suspicious widgets, adware, spyware;
• Presence of the site in the blacklist of 60+ online databases;
• Presence of SEO spam links.

Naps2

Naps2 is a small and very convenient scanning program with Russian language and high speed. With OCR (Optical Character Recognition) support, Naps2 can scan and then OCR text for editing. Naps2 allows you to save different configuration profiles, so the user can flexibly configure settings for each type of file, and then switch between them as needed. The program has a scanner manager with which you can easily manage all scanners connected to your computer. Another advantage of the application is its support for batch scanning, as well as the ability to upload previously scanned documents.

A few words about the software

Epson Document Capture Pro software helps to significantly expand the possibilities of working with scanned materials. The software is included with all business scanners and allows you to:

• Sort documents into separate files (the scanner detects blank pages inserted between documents or recognizes special barcodes or dates and sorts and saves documents into separate folders according to them)
• Improve the quality of the scanned image (color enhancement, sharpening, raster removal).
• Automatically upload documents when scanning to cloud storage (for this, the PC with which the scanner works must be connected to an Ethernet network)
• Register tasks (a set of operations such as sorting, saving, locating a scanned file, etc.) that the application will perform automatically when scanning documents. In addition to launching these tasks from Document Capture Pro, you can also assign them to a scanner button, allowing you to launch tasks with just one button press on the scanner.
• Recognize barcodes and support OCR-A and OCR-B optical character recognition.

Canon MF Toolbox

Canon MF Toolbox is a small scanning program designed to work with Canon scanners. Using the Canon MF Toolbox utility, you can significantly increase productivity, as well as optimally configure the scanner to work with various types of materials. Scan2PDF

Scan2PDF is a free program for scanning documents into PDF format, which has high operating speed, as well as an intuitive interface and the presence of the Russian language. The program also has a built-in converter, with which you can convert almost any file into PDF format.

PaperScan Free

PaperScan Free is a free program for your scanner. Able to operate a variety of equipment, including MFPs. Despite being free, it has a nice interface and quite a lot of functions:

• recognizes text from PDF;
• there are tools for editing images - brightness, saturation, adding filters for photos, removing traces;
• You can draw shapes and insert text into your document.

The disadvantage of the program is the lack of Russian language in the interface. But it’s not difficult to understand the controls thanks to the icons in the menu:

1. To start reading from the scanner, click on “Acquire” and select “Quick scan”.
2. The application scans the sheet and displays it on the screen.
3. Click “Save”, enter a name for the final file and select its format. If you are going to recognize text, set the format to PDF+OCR.

Scanitto PRO

Scanitto PRO is a convenient utility that is not overloaded with unnecessary options, thanks to which you can scan in just one click. The following program features should be noted:

• saving files to multi-page PDF and TIFF files
• selection of scanning area
• Wide range of color settings when working with images

Scanitto PRO supports the following formats: bmp, jpeg, tiff, png, pdf, jp2.
