Formally, Disco Elysium has already been announced in versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but this was done more for the sake of money and show. Don't believe me? Then just try to run this game and you will see that...
Of all the possible sources of inspiration, the Estonian team ZA/UM chose the one that is the most difficult to put on cantilever rails. We are, of course, talking about the legendary and almost unknown to modern gamers Planescape: Torment. In Disco Elysium, as in the famous RPG of the past, the emphasis is not on the combat system (there is none here), but on the plot and conversations. It's no joke, even the ties here are similar. It’s just that one hero wakes up in a morgue, and the other in a broken-down motel room somewhere in the middle of nowhere, having previously been (surprise, surprise) on the brink of life and death. Well, off we go. A bunch of texts, dialogues for a good half hour “about nothing” and complete freedom of action. ZA/UM's work is full of nods to the glorious past of one of the best genres of computer games. And this makes Disco Elysium one of the few purely pisish projects of our years from the point of view of the concept. The only negative for Russian-speaking players is the lack of localization.

You are a mysterious someone, your goal is to get to a very distant mountain. The plot synopsis is more than fully described by this, but you can’t even imagine what a magical and unusual gaming experience is hidden behind it. This is a very meditative and beautiful game

The Dragon Age RPG series has been tested for decades, but has never fallen out of favor under the pressure of more beautiful, but less interesting projects. But once upon a time BioWare could make quality games. True, the team that had a hand in the creation of the cult Mass Effect and the same Dragon Age has not been working in the studio for a long time. But we hope that the authors still have some powder left in their flasks, so to speak, and they will be able to give us next memorable projects in which the plot and story will keep us in suspense until the very end.
Grand Theft Auto V

The final goal is to rob the US Federal Storage, taking out more than 200 million dollars in bags and pockets. Oh my! GTA V has maximum freedom: an open dynamic world, the ability to switch between heroes at any time and as many as 3 endings to the main storyline

Mass Effect plunges you into its world. The cold but mysterious atmosphere of space attracts pioneers, and often difficult moral choices force us to look at dialogues in a new way.
At one time, the production of the videos set a new quality standard for video games - even the Witcher developers borrowed a lot from their Canadian colleagues.
Despite recent failures, the Mass Effect trilogy is one of the best game series, and this was achieved largely thanks to the work of screenwriter Drew Karpyshyn.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

A strong and dramatic story that the creators managed to tell without using words (at least humanly understandable) at all.
There is no co-op here as such: you will play for both brothers at the same time
(get your joysticks ready, it will be hard without them).
At first, the brain will refuse to understand how this is even possible, but over time it will get involved and even begin to enjoy such a process. The gameplay is original and intuitive
: only two buttons to interact with the outside world, and two sticks to control the brothers.
There is nothing here other than the main storyline, and it goes through quite quickly - in about 4 hours. All scenes and tasks are very original and atmospheric, there are no repeating mechanics
, but there are magnificent colorful landscapes. The story itself is cruel and bloody in places, but most importantly, very magical and emotionally powerful.
Overwatch

An online team shooter
from Blizzard with a fantasy twist. In the future, the machines have risen after all, as the Terminator promised. But the Overwatch organization was able to overcome the rebel robots. Everything calmed down, the guys from the organization ceased to be needed by humanity, which is why they were forced to go home. But a few years later, crime gained momentum, and Overwatch members had to reunite as a team and take up arms in order to save civilians.
Multiplayer ideal
, raised to absolute.
Based on the experience of Team Fortress 2, which is played even almost 10 years after its release, it is basically obvious: team shooters live outside of time, like Tsoi, once they conquer their audience. Blizzard did not impose its game - the noise around it arose and did not subside from the first days of the beta release
. And after the release, the servers, which were designed for something inhuman, crashed. The flow of people wanting to play turned out to be greater than this very “inhuman” thing.

As the plot progresses, a large-scale conspiracy of the Confederacy is revealed - insidious governments and experiments on the psyche of the population. The beginning of the First Galactic War threatens the existence of all civilians, the hero will have to protect loved ones and stop endless battles.

At first, the skill is used mainly for everyday student trifles, but as the action progresses, it turns out that the city of Max is facing an apocalypse, and it would be good to prevent it.
The game was released as a series, episode by episode, and if the first parts are similar to a girl’s series with a teenage drama, then somewhere in the middle the suffering fades into the background, and the main thing becomes the hellish mystery of the disappearance of a girl in the style of “Twin Peaks”

The set includes a cool soundtrack, a well-developed detective plot, realism with a pleasant dose of mysticism
. The disappointing thing, however, is that the final choice is the same for everyone and does not depend on your previously made decisions.
GreedFall
Perhaps GreedFall does not deserve the title of the best role-playing game of the year, in many ways inferior to The Outer Worlds, but in terms of plot it is perhaps the best application from the Spiders studio. Their games had quite good stories before, but it was with GreedFall that the developers took a qualitative step forward. Especially in everything related to the development of the setting, which combines low-fantasy in the spirit of The Witcher and Victorian colonial conflict.
But GreedFall truly reveals itself in the details, being not just a mixture of genres, but overall a rather coherent story about the struggle between old and new, wild and orderly. But not good and evil, since the morality here is gray, and the motives of factions and individual characters are dictated not by black and white perception, but by a balanced position that has a clear justification. Ah, if the whole game was as good as its plot, then it would not be worth it!

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

The main character Nathan and his wife bought a house, chose curtains to match the color of the sofas and happily live a quiet life until Nathan’s older brother, who was considered dead for many years, turns up.
Oh, yes: in the previous parts of the game, Nathan was a treasure hunter. Little has changed here: suddenly the living brother says that there is a treasure waiting in Madagascar, and the guys go in search of the mythical Libertalia. Impossibly beautiful exclusive for Sonya

“A Thief’s End” is a well-developed third-person action game with puzzles, shootouts

Need for Speed (2015)

At first it seems that restarting the series was not the idea of the creators, but of PR people who wanted more gold
from an already obsolete product.
But in fact, it turns out that the game of the 15th year absorbed all the best from the previous parts

The right person in the wrong place can change the world.
One of the best games in history could not enter the TOP: despite its venerable age, Half-Life remains attractive to this day. And last but not least, thanks to the plot and atmosphere.
The structure of the script is in many ways reminiscent of Dark Souls - most of the plot information has to be gleaned from the environment and hints from the characters. By putting together a picture from scraps of information, players became increasingly immersed in what was happening - this is the main genius of Valve, and this is why fans are still waiting for Half-Life 3.
This also includes the Portal duology. The latter expand the Half-Life universe and smoothly lead to the third part. Which probably won’t happen – the main writers left Valve, and the plot of the failed threequel was leaked online. Fans are already creating their own version, but the patient is more likely dead than alive, and we are unlikely to see a full ending to the trilogy.

Metro Exodus
With the continuation of the saga about the Moscow metro and the people who, thanks to it, survived the nuclear bombing, very strange garbage came out. If you look at the story of Metro Exodus from a global point of view, it turns out to be complete garbage. The main character suddenly finds out that there is life outside the Moscow Ring Road, he hijacks a train and sets off on a long journey. And the episodes of this journey are literally film adaptations of very bad political jokes. The cannibalistic government turns out to be literally cannibals and non-humans, overgrown pioneers, small nations driven into slavery, who built their life on the principle of “living in the forest - praying to the wheel” villagers... Watching all this, to tell the truth, is simply disgusting - even nastier, than watching news broadcasts on state television.
And then it seems like the end of the fairy tale, but the screenwriters literally rehabilitate themselves by introducing additional stories into the script. Literally at every level, minus the ever-memorable bunker, it is really interesting to watch the life of NPCs. 4A Games managed to convey the everyday life very delicately - the former inhabitants of the pioneer camp, for example, were divided into two groups, pioneers and pirates, and the population of the village is not so bad, they just have their own view of what is happening. Plot inserts unrelated to global events were even better: the wedding of two characters on a train rushing to nowhere, the story of Gulnara’s parents, the attitude of the Baron, who, of course, is a bastard by default, but in the flow of his speech no, no, reasonable thoughts slip through. And all these details ultimately outweigh. Metro Exodus is easily one of the biggest story-driven games of the year, but its writing is great in detail but absolutely terrible in terms of the overall storyline. It's a paradox game, by God.

in which you play as a guy whose vacation hasn't gone according to plan. Jason Brody (this is you, meet me) comes with friends to an exotic island, where they hang out, have fun, take selfies, jump with parachutes, until one day they are captured by sadistic pirates. Jason manages to escape, and he is fired up with a desire to take terrible revenge.
A cool open world with frighteningly realistic graphics and a plot that you won't want to tear yourself away from.

Players will need to storm pirate territory, hunt all kinds of creatures and evolve from a weakling into a tough guy who saved his friends and matured during the time you spent with him. A special treat for Lost fans

Alan Wake
An action adventure with a mystical story about a guy (horror writer) who arrives with his wife in a remote town in Alaska, where his wife mysteriously disappears. The guy begins an investigation and search for his wife, getting to know the residents and customs of the town. He soon realizes that inside the town there is not only something strange lurking, but something frankly scary, vile and dangerous, something that does not belong to this world.
Thus, the player, along with the hero, finds himself embroiled in a very mysterious and unpredictable story with manifestations of the paranormal. Traveling around the city, as well as witnessing flashbacks, losing the boundary between reality and his own creative fiction (the hero gradually notices that there is a connection between the events and the plot of his books), the player will gradually discover a delightful story about the confrontation with the eternal evil and darkness within himself .
BioShock Infinite

Amnesia: The Dark Descent
The protagonist wakes up with memory loss in an unfamiliar castle, where he finds a note sent from himself. The message says that he drank an amnesia potion to cure his soul of mental torment. He also asks himself to destroy the Baron of Brennenburg, who is supposedly a threat, in the bowels of the castle.
As he finds the pages of his own diaries, he remembers the past and tries to get away from the Shadow approaching him. The castle is full of ancient archaeological mysteries related to the psychological trauma and mistakes of the main character.
Transistor

A fantasy adventure game
that at first glance is very similar to Bastion (the same developer, after all), but in fact it is something completely different. You will have to play as the red-haired singer Red, whose life was recently attempted and who is determined to fiercely take revenge for this. On her side is a huge talking sword, Transistor, in which the consciousness of the unknown person who saved Red’s life is placed.
