Naturally, you don’t want to wait 15 days! For this, there is a second level of process security - the Steam mobile authenticator (Steam Guard). With its help, you can transfer virtual property instantly, but to do this you need to install the Steam application on your smartphone and link your account to the device.

Install the application, log in with your account, and follow the instructions:

  1. Go to the “Steam guard” tab in the main menu, click the “Settings” button.
  2. Check the box next to “Receive Steam Guard codes on your phone.”
  3. Follow the instructions in the application and link your phone number to your account.
  4. After linking, the account must work with an active authenticator for 7 days.

After this, each exchange can be confirmed in the application - in the “Confirmation” menu. Now we can safely exchange things, sell and buy them on the Marketplace, use Steam services and enjoy games.

Installing a mobile authenticator

The Steam Guard mobile authenticator is an additional measure to protect your account. To connect the Steam Guard mobile authenticator, you need a phone running iOS or Android. For an Android phone, you need to go to your phone and download the mobile application through the Market:

  1. Click on “search” and type in “Steam”
  2. Install the application from Valve corp by clicking on the “Install” button. After installation, click “Open”:
  3. Next, we need to log in by entering our Steam username and password.
  4. Then click on Steam Guard in the upper left corner and wait for the application to load. The authenticator often lags on this step, so wait 15-20 seconds:
  1. In the interface, click “Settings”.
  2. If you do not have Steam Guard connected, then here you will have a checkbox “Receive Steam Guard codes by email”
  1. To connect the Steam Mobile Authenticator, check the box “Receive Steam Guard codes on your phone.”
  2. Then click the blue “Next” button to confirm the operation.
  3. You should receive an SMS with a 5-digit confirmation code on your phone (which is linked to your Steam account). For example, 98451. Enter our code in the appropriate field and click “Submit”.

How to enable trade confirmation in Steam?

Steam is not only a gaming platform - in its open spaces you can engage in full-fledged trading of items from games. Several items may appear in the user's inventory after purchasing the game, or during its completion. There are many items that can be in the inventory:

When all conditions have been met and a month has passed, the user can exchange items or put them up for sale on the Marketplace.

So, for a transaction to be completed, it must be confirmed, and there are two ways to do this. The first method is confirmation via email. When the transaction is completed, the user will be provided with a link that will be sent by email.

The email used is only the one specified when registering with Steam. In some email services, your inbox may be located in the Spam folder. Open the letter and follow the link, confirming the transaction. The exchange will be completed after 15 days - only then will users receive the items.
